“City Matters” fan committee

I think that there isn't a way to keep everyone happy - club (inc corporate), pointsholders, newcomers (such as the 18-25 group), supporters clubs, whatever else I've forgotten - by bolting on extra bits or amending an existing system.

Introducing a new system would also please some and not others.

I can see it's annoying to those who may miss out on something that they had access to, but balancing that with those who never had something which they might now have access to is awfully difficult, and what the club beancounters will think about.

Said it before and I'll say it once more - the points systems is this single biggest thing that divides supporters and it only really rewards loyalty to those who got lucky and had resources (and time) to go to every game since the points system started. That is also coincidentally the time when we "got good" and our football was attractive.

The points system does nothing for those who went for 20 years before (witnessing some pretty dire spectacles in the process) nor for those who only find themselves going to games regularly in the last 5 or 6 years.

The more mini schemes the introduce (OSCs, 18-25, corporate, whatever) the fewer tickets go to points, hence divide gets wider.

Ballot or bust.

I agree with most of what you say. Top post!

There is no reason for any Supporters Clubs to obtain away tickets.

But I’d reduce Corporates to 10% of the away allocation.

They keep saying we need to change the system and move on, well fuckin do it and get rid of this gravy train these fuckers have been creaming off.
Get the tickets back in the pot for everyone to have a fair crack of getting one.

Wouldn't that then mean that SC members (who as I understand it haven't received points for away tickets) would suddenly have nothing to show from however many years they've been getting tickets?
That's not fair on them, as they'll be behind where they should be, unless a wedge of pts were given to all of them to cover it.

Why should supporters club members ,who believe it or not are all City fans and who have had an alocation since the year dot suddenly have there alocation stopped now, No one is clamouring for sponsers, players families, corperate hospitalty.ect ect to have there alocation stopped. No one said they should not get an alocation at Southend,Grimbsy,Reading,Swindon Ipswich ect when no one else could be arsed going .Now we have hit the big time and every man and his dog wants to go its all the supporters club fault .Think the club are just rewarding them for there loyalty over the years

You mean it's the single biggest thing which unites a type of City fan who hasn't put the hard graft in for the past almost-20years because they want a United away ticket?

The points system predates the time 'when we got good' by a decade. That's why it's the fairest system.

The people who went for 20 years before the points system came in are substantially the same group of people on high points now.

The divide is between those who can't get to Old Trafford or Anfield because they couldn't be arsed going to Sunderland or West Brom away in the League Cup (midweek) and the people who do make big sacrifices to support City over a long period of time.

Worth pointing out that high pointers in general are only asking that the club stops treating them like second class Citizens and an inconvenience.

'Ballot or Bust' makes no sense 'Ballot' is 'Bust.

I'm sure I've read on here previously that Seasoncard/Cityzen members get their points added on if they get a ticket via the Supporters Club as the SC advise City who the ticket is intended for.....

The person ‘allocated’ the ticket, if done officially is the one who is given the points
