“Follow you everywhere” chant

It’s a great pub/away song but will die a death in the Etihad.

It sounds okay to me. The 'Ahwoo' bit is quite funny, the second line has too many words in it though. "Coz we’re Man City and we’re on the piss again" should just be "We're Man City on the piss again" as it puts the emphasis on the club name and keeps the words flowing better.

The long "world" on the Colin Bell chant kills it off when it could carry on for a few more goes round.

Yeah, it does my head in that. If you listen to Lily The Pink, the note that should be held for ages is at the end of the verse - "The world has ever seeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.......". If we did that then that would sustain the chant for far longer. Trouble is, for as long as I've been watching City it's never been any different with that chant so there's no chance of us getting it changed now because it's so entrenched!

In contrast, when we used to sing the "We're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen" to The Wild Rover song, we were one of very few sets of fans in England who remained faithful to the song by getting the note right in the "has ever seen" bit. Arsenal fans still sing it a lot but to my knowledge have never incorporated the note change along with most other clubs whose fans sing it or used to sing it, and I think only Burnley and Blackburn fans (with their own No Nay Never versions of the song) apart from us get it bang on.

I just sing: I willllllllllllllllllllllll, instead of Ahwoooo, and sing: We’re Man City ……….and pissed up again, instead of the longer line you said, I can’t fit in the other words after a few pints anyway
