“Follow you everywhere” chant

Yeah, it does my head in that. If you listen to Lily The Pink, the note that should be held for ages is at the end of the verse - "The world has ever seeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.......". If we did that then that would sustain the chant for far longer. Trouble is, for as long as I've been watching City it's never been any different with that chant so there's no chance of us getting it changed now because it's so entrenched!

In contrast, when we used to sing the "We're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen" to The Wild Rover song, we were one of very few sets of fans in England who remained faithful to the song by getting the note right in the "has ever seen" bit. Arsenal fans still sing it a lot but to my knowledge have never incorporated the note change along with most other clubs whose fans sing it or used to sing it, and I think only Burnley and Blackburn fans (with their own No Nay Never versions of the somg) apart from us get it bang on.
Don’t get me started on the change from “we don’t win at home and we never win away” in the 90’s to “we never win at home and we never win away” these days.

I think the Colin The King chant changed about 10 years ago. When it used to be a pub classic it was only the "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'll" bit that was elongated but somebody somewhere along the line added an elongated "wooooooooooooorld" and that killed the song forever. To be fair it was never a song sung in stadiums.

Why is it Awoooo instead of OhhhhIiiiiii?
At Wurzle land yesterday, must have heard a plethora of sounds and wolf howls. It's silly and funny to see grownups being merry with this chant. Definitely makes me smile. Some proper belly laughs and smiles yesterday.

As ambitious as it is, it should be a family stand classic...

we sung it on the Kippax

Occasionally but it was always more of a niche song that was sung in pubs with a pint glass raised at the "Weeeeeeeeee'll" bit.
The world bit would be carried on and on by different lads then ..."has ever seen" eventually to end it

To be fair non of us were sober or were smoking draw.

Also 1975 was a long time ago...............my memory plays tricks.
