1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

As a positive, I was pleased with how calm he was with the ball at his feet and how willing he was to sweep

Now obviously, being calm with the ball can be scary when you're not that good with it (as we saw for goal #2), but I'd like to think there's room for him to get to an acceptable standard

Same with his sweeping

There’s not room for him to get to that standard while racking up games and mistakes for City though, I have no idea how our GK situation will play out

I don't disagree, but it's still very early days. He's still figuring out how the team plays and getting to grips with what his teammates can do

He might make more mistakes, but then he might not

How old was he back then, I don't think much older than Trafford, but talent was there.
I don't see talent in this kid.

Claudio Bravo ? from the beginning he was shite

I remember Ederson's debut.. Calm, professional, strong, stable, disciplined.

That's the standard.

Time won't cure anything.
What's bad will always stay bad.
Only a numpty could say that.

He had a good game against Wolves but I stand by my comment a few months ago that he shouldn’t be playing in our side.

His record in the Premier League for Burnley was poor and we should be a side aiming for the top of Europe.

We shall see.

If Trafford ends up being a No2 to Donnarumma then so be it. I always want the best possible players at city even if it seems harsh on some individuals.

Felt sorry for him today , pretty obvious he can’t use his feet , doesn’t talk to his defence and looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

He looked like a kid, a third choice keeper thrown into a game due to injury to the two regular keepers. If we go into the season with him as number one we are cooked.

Yes we saved some money signing him but I feel sorry for him, if you think he’s the problem then you are beyond disillusional.

The manager does not coach a professional footballer to make an accurate 5 yard pass.
He tells them to play out the back at all times or we would've gone long

He isnt ederson, tbf no one is ans Ederson himself locked it up enough times

Pep tells then what to do, we should neve be playing it out the back in that situation where they were pinning us back

You don’t have to be Ederson to make that pass

Been thinking about Trafford's game today. I think he needs to stop thinking he's a grateful member of the team. It's almost like he can't believe he's on the team.

But he needs to be an arsehole in his penalty area. Needs to own it. Dias may be the captain today, but he's the boss of that area. He should fuck the players off from encroaching on him in a way he gets no time to look further than 15 yards, especially at goal kick times!

Yes, made some rash decisions, but that's more to do with timing, which he has to work on, big time.

btw this not hard to train. have two defenders in the box and have two players breathing down the neck of each defender. ask Trafford to play the ball to them every time and see what happens can they manage to keep the ball or lose it within the box. if we lose the ball its always a high xG chance gifted away.
