1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

He needs to be our #1.

The system works with him but not Donna and the last 4 games basically tell everything in a condensed cliff notes version!

Should be England's number 1. The only reason he won't be is simply because he's not number 1 at his club.

Hopefully Tuchel takes into account that he's only number 2 at City because we signed what many people consider the best in the world. He's better than any other English keeper.
Not sure about that. I love Trafford but Pickford is and always will be seriously underrated, he is quality.

That spell of 15 mins to begin the second half the ball went back to Trafford half a dozen times an every single time he passed it back out first time, to the right player and kept the attacks going and pinned Arsenal back in their half giving them no rest.
Unfortunately that will be overlooked because of the three early saves, yet that was key to us getting completely on top, though we had already before half time in reality.

Played well today, happy for him after what's probably been a less than ideal season for him.

Hes likely going in the summer, just hope he gets what he wants and needs. He's a starting GK for a LOT of PL teams.

He’s going to end up at Chelsea or Liverpool if he’s not a number one that’s going to be the issue & he will massively improve both teams

Deserves to keep his place. Donnarumma fucked up massively in his last 2 games which ended our hopes of both those trophies, Traffords just helped us win the competition he has been involved in. Make it his shirt to lose and give him a reason to want to fight for it. At worst it gives Donnarumma a much needed shot up the arse.

Trafford feels like the better long term play. If he is number 1, he's here for a decade, You ain't getting that from donnarumma. Being club trained is huge, finding 4 players from our academy good enough to be valuable members of the 1st team is a hard ask and shouldn't be dismissed lightly. We also can't have a keeper in this league long term who cannot deal with crosses and then there is the obvious point that he is infinitely more comfortable on the ball. He's not as good of a shot stopper as donnarumma but the drop off in that attribute isn't close to being enough to ignore all those other benefits.

Notice today that we didn't struggle to get out of our own third half as much as we have at times this season? That's because Trafford is miles better with the ball. He plays the right pass to players at the right time who then have passing options themselves instead of standing on the ball to draw in an attacker then giving it to somebody who is being charged down and has no option but to boot it.

If he isn't made number 1 or at least given a fair shot at making himself that, we'll lose him this summer and i am certain we'll regret losing Trafford.

That third paragraph, is absolutely bob on

Im
That interview was telling he did seem a bit upset but professional I think he’s a great keeper
Impressed me in that iv. Seems a really nice humble professional.
I forget sometimes he came through the ranks here.
A proud day for the lad, some brilliant saves.
Could he be our future No 1?
Or even present....
