1 minutes applause on the 47th minute for Alan Henning seems a good idea - but nearly everyone still be in the concourse for half-time
Maybe not if they knew this was happening.

Depends if it gets around - and there are some idiots who would much rather wait in the queues and stay in the concourse for another 10 minutes rather than showing appreciation for this man.

But what im thinking is would people overrule city as it is quite a controversial topic possibly the premier league may tell them not to do it ?
Why?

Not sure - just think being that it will get noticed by media and involves terrorism acts they may not want it to go ahead could be wrong though?
Nothing controversial about paying respect to a man who lost his life selflessly helping the less fortunate.
Can't see anyone having an issue with it.

That settles that then - need to get the word out - applause and theres only one alan henning :)

I suspect there will be a minute's silence in the 47th minute regardless. And the 48th and 49th...

It would be nice if the club organised either something before kick off, which would need League & Spurs approval, but wouldn't be hard or put a photo on the screens in the 47th minute and just let the fans do their bit.

with all due respect,to alan henning,i,m all applaused out,

i think its a great idea, for the people of manchester , to recognize the compassion and selfless acts, of alan henning.
this local guy, shown us all,and throughout the world,
that ordinary people, can come together,to help the vulnerable and the impoverished.
when governments/regimes fear to tread.

hopefully, the club will help, with organising a minutes silence,
and with the strength of feeling, over the death of alan henning,
there shouldn't be any knobheads spoiling it.(minute silence)

if not,a minutes silence, like another poster has stated,
do a minutes applause ,with 'theres only one alan henning.'

It's a lovely idea, maybe a picture up would be best and applause, those who don't know about it would get it with the photo and join in,hope it goes well

Could be deemed in some quarters as ''political'' and I'd imagine the FA/PL bigwigs would want to avoid any controversy.
