So far these are the most popular albums:

1) The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses [14 votes]
2) Oasis - Definitely Maybe [9 votes]
3) The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead [7 votes]
4=) Radiohead - OK Computer [6 votes]
4=) Blondie - Parallel Lines [6 votes]
6=) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon [5 votes]
6=) Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti [5 votes]
6=) Fleetwood Mac - Rumors [5 votes]
6=) The Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not [5 votes]

Who would've seen that top three coming on a forum mostly populated by proud Mancunians?

amazingly Ive never heard the top 3 albums, just the odd Oasis song got in the charts here, dont think the others ever did

The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
The Smiths - Strangeways here we come
The Smiths - Meat is Murder
Morrissey - Viva Hate
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
James - Laid
James - Gold Mother
The Housemartins - Now thats what i call quite good
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
Blur - Parklife

What about funniest artist name and song title ? I would definitely go for Robin Sarstedt ( mind how you pronounce it ) for artist and Do You Have To Let It Linger by the Cranberries for song title !!

Hard to pick just 10 but these have all stuck with me for decades.

Women and Children First - Van Halen
Alive - Kiss
Rocks - Aerosmith
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Aladdin Sane - David Bowie
Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
Yes Album - Yes
All the World's A Stage - Rush
Starz - Starz
One More From The Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Good stuff there OB1 ..... LOVE the 'Smiff's Rocks album too ... ditto the Alice, my fave of his/theirs along with From The Inside ..... And great to see Starz!

I copied two of them from your list ;-)

I love Queen II too but it was Sheer Heart Attack that made my subs bench.

From The Inside is a really good album.

Going back to the subs bench, these ten were all contenders:

Sheer Heart Attack - Queen
Definitely Maybe - Oasis
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Crime of the Century - Supertramp
Rising - Rainbow
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Angel - Angel
Grand Illusion - Styx
Live - Mott the Hoople
Band on the Run - Wings

Hey!

Someone else who has mentioned Styx.

I'm not alone after all.

fuck, forgot about Goldrush, brilliant album that

It hurt not to include any Gentle Giant as well

Thing is, next week there'd probably be three or four different albums on everyone's list. It hurt me not to include the first Clash album or Blood on the Tracks.

Thats the thing though Bert its not supposed to be what you think are the best albums but just albums that have stayed with you
Yep, I could probably get three lists out of those.

here's mine

rattus norvegicus - the stranglers
black and white - the stranglers
sound affects - the jam
setting sons - the jam
what does anything mean basically - the chameleons
moving pictures - rush
aqualung - aqualung
what's the story morning glory - oasis
the stone roses - the stone roses
true - spandau ballet

I hate these type of things as my list could change time and time again and then you remember some other albums you have forgotten.

Marvin Gaye - The Greatest Hits - Its too hard to pick 1 of his but this was the easy choice.
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses - The real makers of Britpop or whatever you want to call it.
Kanye West - The College Dropout - The greatest RNB album of all time his music changes and his last album Yeezus could well make this list in years to come.
Plan B - The Defamation Of Strickland Banks - Still 1 of my favourites album of all time.
Kasabian - Kasabian maybe the greatest first album from any band.
Radiohead - The Bends - could of picked any but this is there greatest work yet.
Oasis - Definitely Maybe - The Gallaghers at there best.
Blur - Think Tank - could of went with Parklife or any of there others could of made the list too.
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible - Faultless for me.
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand still got the guitar rift of take me out in my head.
