Thought he tracked back well and put in some good tackles, we seen a glimpse of what's to come when de bruyne came on
Agree with that. Pretty much my only concern about signing him was how he would defend, especially when in our own half. Thought he was great today and there’s more to come

I thought that was proper mid-table bluster from him. Not the stuff of Champions. It played right into their hands, exactly what they wanted at that stage in the game. Get everyone to run in, slow the game down, take a few booking, argue with the ref and a few players, sit on the floor and take ages to take the free kick.

Let the defenders win the ball back, don’t try and win it back from a tackle from behind when they’re break away when we need a goal.

Think you’re completely over thinking it.

That fire in him is exactly what we need and will pay off throughout the season.

I’m not really seeing what the rest of you did. A skilful player enough display alright but didn’t move it quickly enough and was petulant towards the end. He can drop the hard man bollocks, it’s not needed.
They were all crap today mind.

I'm not sure about Mahrez anymore but we don't have much better options either.
I’d play Foden/Jesus on the left and Sterling/Torres on the right and would have sold Mahrez to fund a striker. I felt he’d peaked and his value was high, unfortunately most clubs are being reserved with their money so not even sure if we’d have found a buyer for him anyway.

Fern/Rodri

Silva/KdB and Grealish/Gundo

I think we’re fine if we get a striker, I’d probably go with Delap/Sterling if we can’t shift Mahrez.

Bit shit today but wasn’t expecting much as I expected a slow start like last season.

Sounds like you’ll never like grealish. First proper game for us. Does he really deserve any criticism ?

2 games, 2 defeats.
Bit harsh on him, as like most on here, I’ve been really pleased to see him in our side. Grealish and Mahrez, and Sterling to some extent, were the only 3 trying to make things happen today.

Tbf there seems to be fuck all fight in the rest of the team at times.

Didn't mind it.

Today was a forewarning of things to come ref wise. Jack will be booted from pillar to post for 90mins while the ref endlessly defers booking the culprits …….. and then right on cue, the first foul Jack commits will see the ref triumphantly flourish a yellow card at him
