Personally I think there’s a host of young players that’ll sit ahead of Jack in the “best in the world” stakes. We’re lucky that we might just have one of them home grown and a life long blue. The price might suggest it, but I’m not sure best in the world is the yard stick we need to measure Jack by.Do you think Grealish will ever reach prime KDB level.....ie one of the top 5 players in the world?
I certainly dont and have seen nothing ever to make me think he can get to that level....there is a lot of adulation around Grealish but Im not sure why.....Foden is twice the player and was before we bought Grealish who is a few years older. Bernardo, likewise is light years ahead of Grealish in every aspect of their games...
What I’m sure of though, like with every Pep signing to date (other than maybe Dias), we likely won’t see the best of Grealish until next season. There’s a certain level of first season underperformance that I think we have to accept when players make the leap into a Guardiola setup. I genuinely think the tactical complexity of his systems requires a season or more for newcomers to truly grasp and thrive in.
Jack has all the tools to succeed, and I can only say it’s testament to his ability that he’s not looked light years behind so far. Either Pep is happy, or someone might have mentioned that we spent a fair bit of money on him, and it’d seem a waste not to get some value for it?
