Wouldnt be surprised if Jack was on the bench tonight , on current form Sterling ,Bernardo , Mahrez , Gundo , Foden are all ahead of him , KDB , Jesus ,Palmer will also be pushing Jack for a place , maybe Pep will persevere with him to get his confidence back , as ever it will be an interesting team selection

Are u sure Gundo is on form?
I agree that Grealish was not good last game but Gundo was not better...
I would pick Bernardo and Foden if possible.
But again, it is up to Pep.

defensive contribution = minimal

2 goals (1 league, 1 champions league) = crap

3 assists (2 league, 1 champions league) = also crap

40 chances created (all competitions) = fucking amazing. highest in the league after ratboy fernandes (55) and alexander-arnold (42). and with someone like salah’s world class movement ahead of him jack would be way out in front. if you bear in mind he’s still adapting to a new system, coupled with the turbulent period in his personal life, it’s pretty remarkable how well he’s doing on chance creation.

entirely consistent with last season when he created 70 chances from open play, second only to fernandes (77) despite playing 11 games fewer.

the reason people think jack’s doing worse than he actually is, is because – just by luck of the draw – his teammates have only converted 7.5% of the chances he’s created (which is appalling). if, hypothetically, they’d converted jack’s chances at the same (admittedly very high) rate they’ve converted jesus’s (41%), he’d have notched 16 assists so far in all competitions, and would be on course for 35-40 by the end of the season (for perspective, the current record is henry with 28).

never mind ball-carrying. he’s an assister. right now we’re lacking a clinical finisher to do justice to his creativity. but add haaland to the mix, with his 31.5% dortmund chance conversion rate, and jack will be topping the assists charts year after year.

Form isn’t one game. That’s why even the very basic form guide offers 5/6 games. Gundogan has been outstanding the last 6 weeks.

Football is played on grass..

If you’re just going to talk stats. What’s Grealish’s own big chance conversion %?

Why do you think Jesus is at 41%? Do you think he’s perhaps creating a clearer chance by being in far more dangerous positions?

The problem is, I don’t think i’ve seen anyone say he’s shit or even not good enough.
The common consensus amongst the game going City fans seem to be, he needs to do more and hopefully time will allow this.

Grealish will starting vs leeds, seems he will get a lot of playing time if he fit enough. Must be him getting manager trust even if he is not getting that goal and assist number that have been expected for him.

Among the last 6 games, Gundo missed one due to injury, was not good in the last 2 due to injury (as Pep's said), was good in the other 3 games.

50% fitness rate - I won't say he is on form.

On the other hand, I won't start Grealish as well.

no worries i only bring the stats up, because people i’ve spoken to who say (like you) he ‘needs to do more’, tend to point to his low goals and assists

anyway, let’s see how he gets on tonight. maybe he’ll need less time than you think ; )
