He definitely needs a goal. Think it’ll be playing on his mind a bit the chances he’s missed recently.
Those saying he’s been crap from the start are the reason posters get defensive of him. He had a very good first month or so considering the upheaval involved in a signing of this magnitude.
He then had some average games where he looked like he was struggling with our tactics and game plan, which is to be expected, then he was out injured before coming back recently and starting again.
He’s not been a roaring success, you’d have to be daft to have expected much more after such a short time, but he’s certainly not been the failure that some like to portray. It’s no coincidence that the very same posters who were bang against the signing to start with are the ones giving him the most grief. They are stuck in their mindset and there’s no chance of getting them to be fair in their assessment of him.

Keep seeing posters mention the fact mahrez, cancelo, Bernardo etc struggled when they first came in and of course that is true. I would however say each of those players had games where they would show glimpses of what was about to come. Rememebr mahrez scoring a hat trick for instance against Burnley. So far grealish has just looked very slow and a bit lost

I would also add that those players weren’t given the same amount of game time that grealish has had. I’ve never been a huge fan of grealish and thought he was completely overrated at villa and so far I’m seeing nothing to get excited about. He looks unfit, extremely predictable, slow and has 0 goal threat.
Here are the glimpses for you...

Long running joke but even samaras looked impressive from YouTube highlights. Im going off what I’m seeing with my eyes and right now he just doesn’t seem to excel at any facet of the game.
It's about your incorrect expectations..

100M, Aguero`s number and everything made you think that we were getting Messi + Maradona..

But I was closely watching his game in Aston Villa and knew what we were getting / was satisfied with that, because he is a valuable player for Pep`s system and what's more important - for the future..

Just, people should forget about this superstar bullshit and concentrate on different things, listen to Pep`s comments and analyze them carefully.

Sorry but that's not true.

Once any club starts paying a 100m for one player , the expectation is obvious and let's be honest so it should be.

That's the problem with crazy money signings, enormous expectation and often than not a huge disappointment and often failure.

Two scenarios, same player, we could have signed Haaland last summer for 150m plus, would it have been more difficult for the player at that price than getting him 12 months later at nearly 100m less?

I wasn’t expecting Messi or maradona as I said previously I have never rated him when he played for England or villa. What I was expecting is basically what I’m seeing now - a right footed version of mahrez but without the goal threat.

This is the kind of perfect balanced post that is required in objective analysis.
