In fairness, he’ll be judged because he’s taking loads of game time and producing nothing of note. He’s putting in solid but sadly unproductive performances. He’s simply not contributing the numbers. And whether it’s his fault or not, he’s our record signing and only signing for this season. He will be judged differently. Other players will play worse, but have money in the bank. Grealish hasn’t.

He seems a player who it’s deemed stupid to question. Well, let’s be frank, he’s been totally underwhelming and people are getting frustrated. I don’t think it’s unfair to start asking questions of him now.

I hear the argument about Mahrez, Gundogan or Rodri making a slow start. Which again is fair but easily and rightly scrutinised. Mahrez was in double figures for both goals and assists in his first season. Rodri wasn’t this Rodri but he was still a very solid player. Gundogan was frustrating but we’d seen moments of real class in games like when he tore Barcelona to shreds. We’d also seen him be one of the very best midfielders in the World at BVB.

Grealish came with huge questions to be answered. And for many, he’s left more questions so far and any answers we’ve got, have not been positive..

I’ve a group of City supporting mates who’ve all played the game for years, everyone of them at Wembley in 99.. Not one was convinced he was the right signing and are certainly less convinced after his performances to date.

I don't know what people are expecting of Jack. He's never been prolific. We're we expecting him to come in and score 20 goals a season and get 20 assists? He's somewhere between De Bruyne and Bernardo for me. Wants the ball to feet, likes to drive forwards with it and has the ability to craft chances for others and create space for them.

The main expectation I had of his arrival, was for an impact on the amount of space our other players would have as a result. But that's not been the case. He would often have two men on him, which in our team would mean space for De Bruyne/Foden etc who would thrive on it.

I'd love to see him play more centrally in the no8 role. I think that's where we'd get the best out of him. He's got the energy to go box to box. He's got the touch and control and pace and skill to drive the ball forwards and he would do a better job in there in my opinion. Pep clearly feels he's better learning the system out wide for now, where there's probably less risk from a defensive perspective. But he's not the first to struggle to adapt initially. I wanted us to sign him. I'm therefore hopeful and positive he'll be a great player for us. He just needs that one moment that a lot of the players have had to settle him down.

Mahrez was the boo boy and then just went to another level particularly in the CL. Won us games on his own. If Grealish plays shit for 90 minutes but pops up with a winner in Madrid he'll go up another level from the confidence boost.

Think it takes time for Pep trust any player to play centrally, Bernardo took a while before he got played there. Pep has talked about Foden needing to learn control to play there
It is where I think both Grealish and Foden will end up, when I’m not sure.

Not much to disagree with in fairness.

I think most fans are realistic, and weren’t expecting him to rack up 30 G&A’s but I think it’s fair to expect one or two game changing contributions from a guy in his position. One match winning contribution isn’t much to ask. So far, he’s not given us one game changing moment, goal or assist.

I think fans are realistic, and yes he’s never been prolific, but he’d say himself he’s disappointed in that regards. Fingers crossed he wins us a big game or 2 in the next few months.

Yeah spot on mate. Just need to keep supporting him. It is a huge step up for him. The players we tend to sign have some experience competing for titles and in the CL (generally). He has neither. Huge learning curve and it will take time for him to gel.

I have seen him take up some good positions at times but often someone else is also in them.

Hopefully he can kick on in the final few games. CL quarters, FA Cup semi and league title run in. Now is when we need everyone fighting hard and showing their best form. Mahrez' moment took a while to come, it was probably that free kick against PSG and then the two at home that flicked the switch.

Let's hope Grealish can go and win us a game soon and it does the same for him.

There's nothing wrong with Grealish. He stood at out Villa, but so did the ballboy. He was a bench player for England at the Euros. It's not his fault that City paid 100 million for a 35 million player. If we want to blame someone, blame the idiot that sanctioned that. However, Pep will improve him and he'll eventually get him to be a 50-60 million pound player.

In fair for England he put in some MOTM performances against belgium and ireland. I do think midfield is his best position and he wont look a world class player for city unless he is played as no 8 where he can carry the ball through
midfield. Playing him as a wide forward where he is at the moment is a waste of his talents.

I've said all season that I thought he was bought to play next to Kev, and make space for a number 9. I still think the plan of having De Bruyne pinging balls in over the top, Grealish drawing players in, and Kane playing between the lines and over the top would have been pretty special. But Silva stayed and was undroppable for parts of the season (and hopefully hits that form in the coming weeks and months), and Kane didn't. Best is yet to come.
