I’m not really seeing what the rest of you did. A skilful player enough display alright but didn’t move it quickly enough and was petulant towards the end. He can drop the hard man bollocks, it’s not needed.
They were all crap today mind.

I think it's just because he's the big money new fancy signing. I think he has the potential to be a great player here and it was his first proper game, but he did no more than any of the others today, but loads of people are saying things like "he was a shining light" and "our best player by a mile". I think people are just seeing what they want to see.

Plenty seeing more than was evident after 1 game on here. Couldn't see the fuss when he was playing for Villa or internationals either. Hope he starts making a difference sooner rather than later though.

Villa fans are the ones to judge and he was an icon. I am pretty sure that other than KDB he was involved in more created chances than any player in the league which is amazing for a team not near the top. Still, time will tell.

He was brilliant yesterday, I can't recall him losing the ball once, was always an option and had some really nice link up at some points with Sterling and De Bruyne when he came on.

Our best player by a mile for me.

That run into the box in the first few minutes showcases what he brings to this team. He’s direct in his dribbling and not only that, does it at pace with brilliant body positioning.

Thought he oozed quality and tried to get us going. Good to see him out a foot in when needed, positioning wise though he leaves us a bit open when he kept drifting wide but then if Zina or cancelo was playing on the left they would’ve been covering the middle left channel rather than Mendy who got far too high and wide leaving a huge gap.

If Jack didn’t know how different we get treated to other clubs in the media and by refs then he certainly does now.

The media have gone from being up his arse when he played for Villa and England to taking sly digs at him.

There’s already been at least three nailed on fouls on him that the refs have just waved away.

Pretty impressed yesterday, he looked streets above anyone else in blue until KDB came on

He looked the sharpest and quickest by a mile too, with a nice acceleration and turn of pace to beat a player - sadly Sterling and Mahrez (who had a full pre-season) did not

Liked how he was coming deep and demanding the ball and taking some responsibility to make something happen on his debut too
