Thought Jack looked great last night to be fair. Free role suited him better as he went wondering affecting the game more?

Yeah

The first several minutes he sticked to the left wing as we playing 4-2-3-1, but the ball could not go up. Sterling could not contribute enough in the No 10 role and left a big gap from double pivots . Italian players pressed hard on our back line and he had to drop very deep - as deep as in our own box - to help controlling the ball and releasing the pressure. England actually played okay once breaking the first line because Italian defenders were old&weak. But we could not break the first line as frequently as enough because Stones and Tripper, 2 key technical defenders not there, Walker Dier and James were all not very good on the ball. Maguire and Shaw used to be good but now very out of form and scared to make any mistakes. They just kept passing to the right to avoid making any passes.

Grealish dropped deep. Once instance Shaw kicked the ball away to Kane and it resulted in the pressure came back again and gave out a corner. Grealish talked to Shaw asking him to pass it to him next time and Shaw did so. In the end Grealish made the ball going forward. That is something I saw from Villa Grealish. He ability and confidence to hold the ball to break the press - is so rare among English players. The courage is admirable.

And he started to run more freely. It feel like a 4-2-2-2 system with Kane and Sterling up front.

The problem is - if playing 4-2-2-2, you need very good 2 fullbacks comfortable going up the pitch to hold the width. But Luke Shaw was miles off it last night. At some stage Harry Maguire was actually filling in the left wing position holding the width because Shaw was hiding behind. I don't know why Ben Chilwell not on the bench and he may be suited the role better.

It would make more sense if we play 4-2-3-1 with Grealish in the middle and Sterling Foden on the wings. Or Mount in the middle with Grealish and Sterling on the wings (sorry Phil). Other combination just does not make sense at all...

This happened awhile ago I presume and I imagine was known about within the club so not sure any of that really applies - unless like a few others you just don’t like him so are looking for worse case scenarios.
A couple of things to point out…

Given the timing, he’s just (a couple of months previously) signed for us and become England’s most expensive footballer, given the dates he was either in pre-season or beginning of a new season… he should be focussing on his football than getting slaughtered with Mendy

He also has form… crashing his car pissed during lockdown

And we have his antics on the parade (ok it’s fine to celebrate but I’ve seen many a city parade and the players haven’t been that off it l)

I’m not a Grealish boo-boy, I’ve been very supportive of him on the pitch but the lad needs to think long and hard whether he wants to be a top footballer or a George Best wannabe

Apologies to Jack, the girl at Mendys sex party * was 23 not 17 and the sex possibly average as he passed out drinking vodka like any teenager does! .He's heading for his 30s in a style closer to Gazza and currently light years from the City status of Kompany, Silva x2, Sergio and Haaland.* *

One of England's best players v Italy so the talent is there and a generally a loveable rascal !

* phrase courtesy of Alan Partridge !
** City fan producing the goods within minutes.

Point out whatever you want. Footballers aren’t robots. If he fucks his career up then so be it, I’m not going to judge him on getting pissed and shagging about, that’s for the Mary Whitehouse’s of the world.

Never mind the sex. Pep, had he been aware and it is unlikely he was told, would have been very annoyed about the drinking. Jack's signing was only announced on 5th August and he made his debut perhaps 10 days later and in between there seems to have been excessive drinking. If you read Pep Confidential you will see how concerned Pep was about what players consumed (handing out bags of nuts for players to take home when in Munich!).
