I was hugely critical of him last season and the early part of this, he was hugely underwhelming.

Since the WC he look a different player, a player who now believes he belongs in this team, the difference is night and day much to his credit.

He still has much more to improve on, creation and scoring have to improve but he is a player who has become a huge part of our team.
i dont know if this is a contributing factor but since the world cup hes not really played with cancelo at back of him. Him and cancelo tended to want to occupy the same areas and now that cancelos not there jack seems to be playing much better

Pep Guardiola: "I talked to
@JackGrealish
about his decision making. The quality was always there, but the commitment to take risk in important moments is making the difference..."

Yeah definitely still loads to improve on. While Grealish has got a hell of a lot better and more impactful; before the other night, Nathan Aké still had a better minutes-per-goal ratio than him this season.

This current form should be the baseline now. There’s still more to come from Jack and he can really become a cracking player.

Self belief, that's the only change.

he was incredibly overwhelmed from the moment he signed much to my surprise, it's taken 18 months for him to genuinely feel part of the club, no looking back now.

His overall form didn't look for too clever up until the break for the World Cup although there were fleeting signs of improvance.

I said a few weeks back.....it was imposter syndrome......he was in awe of the players around him and didnt believe he was an equal. That along with the fact he had no idea how to change the game he had been brilliantly performing for the past 10 years.....combined to make him less effective than he should have been - he was no where near as poor as some tried to make out though.

Anyway good to see most of us in the same chapter now ;-)

Actually I think that his form has been good level ever since time around a game before Real Madrid or so when Walker was injured and Cancelo moved to the right. Maybe a slight dip in the first 2 games coming from the injury in September.

The up and down, like many other players in the team, is natural thing to happen when the whole team is learning to play with Halaand. The quality is there. Just some games sometimes the combination and chemistry did not cook that well. After WC Pep moves the winger a bit far away from the backline and it is technically no longer a winger position but attacking midfield left. The role suits him more and people see more from him. But the quality is always there.

Despite your mild criticism of him, I think you’ve always been fair, balanced and considered in so doing. And you are correct, he did underperform.

You are definitely not a hate filled ****!

TBF I don't see that much improvement in Grealish, style of play and role on the pitch hasn't improved that much.. In terms of statistics I think he has similar to last season's..

He still passes back ball to Ake or Rodri whenever arrives to opponent's box, still dribbles whenever has chance to move forward, still keeps the ball and rarely looses. So these were his traits from the beginning, for example I remember games against Chelsea and Liverpool in 2021..

I guess what changed is, that due to 100m fans were waiting for Messi or Maradona and they somehow decided that he was a flop, so compared to "Messi expectations" - Jack seemed to be a flop, compared to "flop expectations" - Jack seems to be a OK or great player and that's what happens now, people have started to realize that he isn't that bad player and is a valuable member of this squad..

As for the realistic ones, like me or other ones here, we are still waiting for Jack to fulfill his true potential and show what he is really capable of..

Problem is the final third obviously -> Just don't pass back, try and make an effort, shoot or go 1 vs 1 against fullbacks, cut inside, make some fucking actions and become a player who leads the attack, don't be a passive team player, be a leader who makes the difference.

I think that's what Pep Is asking from him now and hopefully we will see that.
