Or maybe the effluxion of further time marked his further assimilation into learning how to play under Pep.

I’m not normally given to pointing out when people have made incorrect calls, nor least because we all do, myself very much included, but there have to be some limits placed upon that.

The sheer arrogance of some posters, failing to wait and see, despite the track record of the greatest club manager in world football in improving players and the period of time that usually takes if they are attacking players, truly was astonishing and speaks more to their limitations and insecurities than anything else, as does their conspicuous absence from this thread in recent weeks.

Really pleased for Jack, but not surprised. Call me crazy, but I was prepared to back Pep Guardiola’s judgement and give him and Jack the benefit of doubt. The fact that others manifestly and repeatedly weren’t shows their own complete lack of judgement, and given it involved slagging one of our own, a lack of support and, in some instances, naked disloyalty.

We’ve all had to sit next to these cunts at games. Can’t wait to get on certain players backs because of their own pitiful insecurities. Spoiling the experience for those around them. Sad, selfish cunts who know better than everyone else, including Pep Guardiola, yet never seem to learn.

Quoted for 2 reasons -

1. Use of the word 'effluxion' which I had to look up.
2. Its absolutely fucking spot on in every way. Bravo.

Consistently 8/10 , but he needs more protection from the referee's , Trippier was chipping away at him all afternoon and didnt even get a yellow , Jack righfully pissed at times , he appears to be fair game for defenders.
The one time on the sideline was blatant. Late and nowhere near the ball. A yellow all day every day but I'm so past wondering what games some of these refs are watching.

That's a great out of the box suggestion. Mahrez can certainly control the ball and pick out a pass or two...

I can understand this attitude for the few people who said he'd never be good enough and there was no chance of him making it here. I accept that that was wrong.

But most of his critics have been proven right by the recent upturn in form, not proven wrong. The point we were making was that we spent £100m on a guy who didn't look anywhere near up to it. Now he looks much closer to the quality we were expecting and guess what? The 'haters' have 'melted away'.

What's actually happened was, he was hugely disappointing for ages and rightly got criticised. Then he improved so there wasn't as much to criticise anymore.

I still think he's been underwhelming overall, mind you. This is him 'settled into a Pep team' and he's still only really getting the occasional goal and assist.

I cannot imagine the fucking explosion so many posters on here would have if Raheem Sterling had 3 goals and 4 assists in a season for us and people were praising him for it. In fact that's pretty much Sterling's exact output at Chelsea right now and he's been shocking. I think it's that double standard that frustrates me more than anything.
You're joking right? You're comparing a one dimensional, SLOPPY, one footed, turnover machine like Sterling to someone with sublime skills on the ball, midfielder skills, and a ball retention magnet by goals and assists? There's no double standard. If Sterling is not scoring goals he's useless. When he was on it here he had value. Then he started missing more sitters than he was worth and he had to go. Why are you even bringing him up in this conversation? I guess we all have favorites and some will be defended regardless of the circumstances. I wouldn't trade Jack at this moment for 10 Sterlings...just sayin'...

Something has clicked mentally with him in recent months. It’s clear he now feels like he belongs here, but also that he doesn’t need to be subservient to KDB and others. He’s seemingly realised he is able to influence the game himself and willing to take on the responsibility of doing so. Playing with a swagger now.
There's the key word, swagger...you nailed it!
