Because Gomez not only provided him no support but he actively occupied the space Jack likes to occupy, stopping Jack from being effective. The Cancelo problem all over again. Frustrating to watch to say the least. And every time Jack brought the ball down the pitch and passed it inside to Gomez (who was there so he couldn't be) Gomez wasted the opportunity by passing it backwards. I never want to see Gomez on the pitch at LB when Grealish is on the pitch again.Tough game for him outside the assist.
See my post above re Gomez. Typical City fans to jump on Jack for a situation that wasn't his fault.Hopefully just a bit tired and due a dud as that was more like the grealish that wasn't good enough at the start of the season. Fodens back, Mahrez has just banged in a hattrick, now is not the time to go off the boil, those two should ensure he doesnt.
No one is jumping on him.. Just stating that he wasn't up to his recently set high standard.See my post above re Gomez. Typical City fans to jump on Jack for a situation that wasn't his fault.
For posterity:
He makes it look so easy.
Yes Jack has been incredible last 4 months. But it is also fair to say he didn’t have his best game today. He never once ran at the RB in 1st half and there were opportunities. No one would care if he lost it. He’d get fouled most probably too. Was that cos Gomez was standing in wrong place or he was tired??No one is jumping on him.. Just stating that he wasn't up to his recently set high standard.
A bit harsh on Gomez. Pretty sure in the first half season I saw Gomez overlapping. Perhaps just some unsuccessful tacticsBecause Gomez not only provided him no support but he actively occupied the space Jack likes to occupy, stopping Jack from being effective.
