Well fucking said, mate.

As expected, after one or two slightly less impressive performances and some unfair refereeing against him, the vultures are back out in the Grealish thread, trying to pick away at him for any minor thing.

The lad is the most fouled player in the Prem over the last few years. He gets kicked up and down the park every week, and now he plays for City, the media have successfully started a "Grealish is a diver" narrative which has gotta make it even harder for him to deal with, especially with arsehole refs who don't fairly punish people having a go at him.

He's not an idiot, nor is he immature. He's human and he's allowed to have a bit of a go when he's being unfairly treated. Personally I'm glad to see a City player with a bit of that back chat in them. Every other bloody team gets in the ref's face every five seconds and our squad has historically been passive as fuck when it comes to refs screwing us over. Obviously I don't want him getting sent off for dissent and he trod a fine line yesterday, but he was well within his rights.

As Keeper! said, I also think people don't realise how much Jack is in control of those kinds of situations. I see people in the match day thread accusing him of "losing his head" or getting in trouble, but if you actually pay attention, he's an absolute master of the wind up and knows exactly where the limits are and what buttons to push to get the other team riled up. You could see it in that cheeky grin he gave to the Fulham fans or the way he reacted to Savic back when we played Atletico. He knows what he's doing. He's not some Diego Costa headless moron, he's a lad who thrives when the crowd gets riled against him, and it only makes him even more dangerous.
All correct, however sarcastically clapping the ref was an unnecessary risk that he shouldnt have taken, pure and simple.

I don't blame him for reacting, when you're the most fouled/kicked player in the league and possibly across Europe and get no protection whatsoever from refs even the nicest of blokes would loose their head, at the end of the day we sometimes tend to forget players are humans with emotions and not just robots who will behave perfectly at all times.

Agree, and I'm sure Pep would have made him aware of that, especially because he's integral to the way this version of Peps City plays and he's been absolutely brilliant since the turn of the year.

He’s human and passionate. I’m glad he’s got steel to his game.

He is up there for many reasons now as one of our top players.

I can forgive his head loss yesterday. Personally not arsed one bit about it (he won’t be stupid enough to sarcastically clap again) and just shows how much he cares.

I’d rather that than some players we’ve had in recent memory who would saunter about the pitch(/wing) and not seem particularly arsed.

Turns out he is a nicer person than i thought he was on joining us , still immature turning up to training with a hangover and i felt he led phil astray but since then has chosen to get his head down and concentrate on playing and look what he can do when he behaves
