Ahh that makes a lot of sense.

And does jib in mean sneak in? I’m not from the UK so not sure. If it comes to it I’m all for that lol.

Unless I missed it, there isn’t a pair together next to each other unfortunately

Much better today. Finally got himself into a goalscoring position and it paid off. Wouldn't go overboard with the praise, he was good but not amazing, that's the minimum level you expect every week from him and all our players. I think the whole team was quite poor for 60+ minutes of that match in truth but he was probably top 3 players on the pitch today with Rodri and Akanji and that's not been said very often. Hopefully does well for England and we see a much more confident player when they're all back.

Why wouldn't they enjoy it? This ridiculous idea that any criticism directed towards any City player, however justified suggests they've got some kind of personal vendetta against a city player that's so strong they'd not enjoy city scoring in the 1st minute is fucking mental.
If it was just criticism on form, fine

However some go too far.

Some do have a vendetta

Indeed, although the MOTM claims are a bit OTT.
He was far and away our best player today, for me. The goal is just the cherry on the cake: it was a joy to see him keep possession so tidily while also picking the perfect moments to glide through players inside the pitch and create dangerous situations in their box. He won fouls, made the right decisions, scored, and helped control the game.

Don't know what more you could ask of him, to be honest.

We bought him to do what he did today; now he has to keep on doing it.

He shouldn’t have even started the game…
Not if pep was listening to the salt and pepper pot managers on here anyway

Disagree there has been no vendetta against him, in fact I would say our fan base has been very patient.

He is a high profile player that has not consistently played well, that needed to change and hopefully yesterdays performance will help him kick on and produce week in week out.

As a fan base and club that's all we want not only from Grealish but all our players.

I think his performance yesterday explained Pep’s comments about not judging Jack solely for goals and assists.

For me, his biggest quality is being the player to make the pass that turns possession into a promising attack. Almost David Silvaesque in getting the assist to the assist.

You look at Haaland’s goal yesterday and it was Grealish’s touch/pass under pressure which found Bernardo in space which led to the assist.

There was another chance in which he dribbled with the ball past a few players, passed to Bernie as he was fouled who then put KDB through on goal.

He’s top quality at drawing players in and finding a pass under pressure that creates space for others. Unfortunately for Grealish, a lot of people don’t care about that side of the game, it’s all about statistics. That said, he also has the ability to hit 10/15 goals and assists in a season. If he does that, they he will soon justify his price tag.

Impossible to agree with that when many never wanted him here in the first place and have made those feelings known ever since across social media platforms.

Anyway....Hopefully this is a fresh start for all.

Nothing wrong with arguing about the merits of a player before they sign, but once they sign he get's our full support, which he has done from what I can see.

I was totally against any move for Harry Kane, not because he was not a good player but not a good fit for our club.

As said earlier all we want is for him to play consistently well, which he simply has not done so far, hopefully yesterday will have done him the world of good and help kick on his career with us which is long overdue.

It is all about opinions but have you read all 150 pages so far?

The goal he scored yesterday was the type of goal Sterling was scoring for us on a regular basis eg Kdb cross into the six yard box. If he continues to make these runs into the box both Haaland and himself will get these opportunities and in time his goal tally will increase.

Delighted for him to have got his goal, a good performance and hopefully a much-needed confidence boost.

Not sure a great deal changed yesterday in terms of what he was trying to do, but that little bit of extra intensity in his and the team's performance served him well.

Still more he and the club can do to draw better performances out of him, but he's clearly talented, keen to learn and desperate to play his part, so I'm going to keep backing him and being over the moon for him and us when it works.
