Easily one of our best players since new year

I've come to accept he's just not much of a goalscorer. If he can start to get 10 a season in all competitions I'd say that's good.

That's all David Silva used to get and nobody minded because he contributed plenty of other ways.

It's because 100m price tag f*cked a lot of people expectation from him and even didn't have anything to do about him. It's mainly our club doing that they that want him and buy his release clause at that price. Yet he brunt the most damage from the fans because the price tag.

He’s improved a lot and now looks the part in our team. But he’s still not been good enough (like most of our team this season) despite being much much better.

For me, there’s surely more to come from him? If this is it, I’ll be disappointed. I think there’s a great player in there and we are yet to see it.
Good summary, I feel the same. He has improved so much and his work rate is one of the best but I feel he is still lackIng at the tip of the spear. The 2nd goal v Burnely that Foden put on a plate for Haaland, I dont see that coming from Jack.

I dont think we'll ever see that which makes me wonder if he's in his best position? Could he evolve in to Gundo's role?

Pep still doesn't trust Foden to play in midfield (and I would assume at this point he never will), so I can't see him ever putting Grealish in there.

Are you really using the best player ever to play for us as a comparison to grealish ? Fucking hell

Did I compare their overall ability? No

Did i say Grealish is as good as Silva? No

I said Silva wasn't a great goalscorer but it never mattered

Grealish doesn't need to be a great goalscorer either because he does plenty of good things himself. Doesnt mean I'm saying he's as good as him

You're a thick **** if you think I was comparing their overall ability just from my post when I never mentioned that part whatsoever.

Thats why i dont care about price tags these days. What is a 100m player today anyway?

There's so much money in the game that teams with plenty of money will pay whatever it costs to get the man they want. The specific number is largely irrelevant now and barely a reflection on players ability at this level. That's why you get Declan Rice with a bigger price tag than Haaland.

Charming

Around 3:30 into this video it shows Grealish doing a finishing drill with Kane and Gallagher but on his left foot - all of them being struck well. All 3 players are doing the same technique (slow, studied run-up before hitting on their third/fourth stride) - drill led by J-F Hasselbaink.

If he's picking up finishing tips with England from JFH then brilliant and even better that it's on his left foot! Would give him a whole new dynamic to his game rather than cutting inside, a bit like Mahrez being able to go both ways now.

I know it's hard to believe this is true, but on Irish TV last night when Grealish was substituted, Kenny Cunningham on co-coms commented that; "i'm not sure why he's getting such a big hug from Pep, he was about a 5 out of 10 tonight for me." Imagine watching that game and coming to that conclusion. You all think BT is bad, but some of the shite we have to listen to is unreal....
Irish TV hate City.

I think his left foot is actually decent. It's just that - especially when he was lacking confidence - he doesn't take the risk of using it very often.

Might need to do the drill a few more times.

Not really his night, should definitely have scored.....and ultimately he left the pitch disappointed and frustrated at what was very nearly a great performance.

He clearly sets himself very high standards and sometimes that ends up being a bit of an anchor.

Why don't you just admit you made a mistake using King David in comparison to Jack and shuffle off the stage quietly.
He missed a howler last night in Naples and I doubt if he gets anywhere near ten finishing like that. I do agree his general play since the WC has been much improved.

He needs to be better adjusting his body position/pace when receiving the ball, especially near the box. Thus he can score more often. I am not saying that he is bad at it. He is good at it and perhaps better than most of English players. But he is not there like KDB Gundo or Kane, which makes them elite players. Scanning around more often may help. Sometimes he received deep and he could turn into the other direction but he chose the wrong way to dribble. BTW I think that he put too much muscle onto his upper body. Maybe it is for protection but his agility is in decline comparing to 2 years ago.

This was him at the Euros:

I don't think he's noticeably added bulk?

Because I wasn't comparing their overall abilities to each other

You can reference two people as an example in any walk of life without making a direct comparison with each other

But people with a very limited way of thinking see two names in the same sentence and automatically think you're comparing their overall abilities when that wasn't even mentioned.

Only people with a low IQ think that way because their brains don't function in any other way than that simplistic way. They're the same people that can't use lateral thinking too.

Thicko's, basically.
