10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

Panic over, hopefully.

Maybe when the call-up came he thought there was a chance he'd be fit by now. He was called up, he went. Said hello to his mates, kept his name in the mind of those behind the scenes at England (who won't all change when the manager does) and presumably did enough to prove he genuinely does have an injury or fitness problem that is stopping him from playing.

I can't see that he's done anything wrong here except perhaps fail to reassure Pep that he planned to follow medical advice.

Made the correct decision eventually, good lad.

well It is not his decision to make. It is Lee Carsely and medical staff's decision to make. People still don't really understand players do not have a choice if national team calls you up. Of course if you are as senior as Kyle Walker or Harry Kane you can ask the manager to give you a break but others really don't have a choice.

Course it is, Carsley will speak with them all and must have asked him was he fit to join up and looking at the pictures of earlier today the answer was yes, he had chance to say I can’t make it as I’m not fit and as you know Lee I’ve not been playing for my club, but maybe Carsley is just thick as fuck and good job he ain’t carrying on as Pep wouldn’t be inviting him up here in a hurry

So how do less senior players like Rashford, Saka,Tront Arseface get away with pulling out?

51 fucking pages have been added to this thread since he last kicked a ball.

The obsession some people on here have with kicking one of our own players whenever they can is baffling.

And not just one of our own players, a man who was a key part of this club becoming European Cup winners.

Think we all need to go outside more.

If the player informs the national side 2 days before then they do have a choice in being called up or not, obviously they may not be called up again but they can and they do say no.
