He is just shit and gives us nothing. Nothing off field. One of the reasons why we are so dependent on Haaland. Grealish doesn’t score or assist.
Ah, here we have a stat shagger.

Grealish numbers have never been amazing, even at Villa. They should have been better for us 100% and will contribute towards his downfall. He has given us more this season than a few of the old guard who can do no wrong, despite playing crap most weeks. Grealish hasn't been given a sniff this season so to say we are reliant on Haaland because of a winger we never play, makes you look like a king idiot.

Don't get the hate for him this season. Spot on he's generally played better than KdB, Foden, Bernardo and Gundo (except for the past month) but somehow can't get into the lineup.

Yes he's not lived up to the transfer fee, but it was always going to be hard at that amount. I put that on the club for paying that price and not walking away from it.

imo if we can recoup 40m thats as great as it gets. not seeing many clubs would offer that tho. if they do we also would need to compensate his lower salary via a payoff which can cut the sell price in half practically.

Worst signing ever for the money. Decent player but £100m and £350k a week wages ?

Biggest waste of money this club has ever spent on one player.
True, but still 5 or 6 times better , in terms of value for money, than Antony, Sancho, Hojlund, Mount, Ca$hemoreo, The Slab, ....

oh sod it

The Rags entire first team squad

He is shit. 300k/week for nothing.

compare him to our squad not the rags. He’s been a failure . Imagine not scoring a whole year and not being able to get left. The amount of time he needs to get a shot off is crazy

Not totally. About a 5 or 6 out of 10 for me. Not a complete flop (KP??) , but not what you hope for when paying the numbers you quote above. Being played out of position hasn't helped, nor has staggering out of pubs at 4 in the morning.

I was referring to Tolmie's proclamation that there would be an announcement on his future about a fortnight ago.

Yeah, I read that post from Tolmie as well. So, where is Grealish going? Spurs, Newcastle, Villa? The media has been very quiet about him last few weeks.

One of the problems about Grealish is the " £100m for him, what a waste of money" comments but it's not his fault we were fucking stupid enough to pay it, he was never a £100m player in the first place, nowhere fucking near.
I don't think he's been a failure but neither has he been a success.

The fact that Gibbs White is with Stellar and it looks very likely we're after him, suggests to me that they have already sorted out Grealish's next move. Unlikely that we'd go spend big on an English player from their stable without first having some assurances that they've got somewhere they can send Grealish.

Makes sense.

Playing him out wide was a mistake…….

Grealish has done reasonably well for City and played his part in some fantastic moments for the club, including arguably our greatest ever team performance when beating Real Madrid 4-0 in 2023.

The fee was excessive, but that wasn't his fault, as it's par for the course when clubs are desperate to increase their Homegrown/English quota

My only criticism is that he just doesn't push himself and at times seems quite comfortable winning cheap free kicks (even late in the game when we've been desperate for a goal).

That's true, but has Rice? Honestly?
English players are vastly overpriced. It's ridiculous.

Rice was meant to be their midfielder that was the final puzzle to get over the line against us after running us close the season before.

It never happened.

They've lost the league this season too.

If they win the CL, I'm sure he'll be raved about because of his goals but as it stands they've won bugger all.

You could make an argument the Arsenal that lost the title to us the season before Rice joined were a better team. They were certainly not worse.

Rice will never be seen as a poor signing because he'll give you a solid 7/10 performance most weeks but all the talk was he was their answer to Rodri that would get them over the line to be champions, yet they're not really any better than the 22/23 season
