I think some players will have issues with him being 2nd best paid player at the club once KDB left. we need to move him on. near impossible that if he stays then next season he can become a regular starter.

bad optics for the club as well to have the 100m superstar signing on very high salary be unused sub in lot of games. especially when other that play more often are in poor form too.

Hopefully we can get some money back for him and get his wages off the books...he is clearly done here...

Who would have guessed it?
Firmly thought he would be one of our best players when we bought him.
Sadly it just hasn't worked out that way.
He has never rediscovered his treble winning form for some reason which is a real shame and it's obvious Pep doesn't value his contribution anymore.
You're right, it's time for him to move on.
He's on too much money to warm the bench.

He’s played 9,851 minutes across 4 seasons, so averaging 2,426 plus change a year. The 22-23 season accounts for a huge number of those minutes, and in those 4 years he’s only actually missed 17 games through injury.
Particularly bewildering is that in the season we’ve had, when we’ve been down to the bare bones, even Ortega has played more minutes than Grealish.

He’ll start on Saturday as part of the baffling team selections

Just said that in the pre match post

Pep hardly gives him a kick in the league and then often chucks him into the biggest cup games

No idea why, surely if you fancy a player that much to get you through knockout games, you'd fancy them in any scenario

Bournemouth at home, for me a far bigger game, Pep will have one eye on that game for sure, a must win.

if I remember correctly TH said its all agreed for him to go on loan with us paying the majority of his wages and then leave on a free when his contract expires.

for sure thats not the plan. paying the majority of his wages for 2 more years and not getting a fee? bollox.

we need to sell him. what I can imagine we need to do payoff on his salary now vs his salary at his next club which unless he goes to Saudi could be half of what it is now maybe 2/3rd.
I dont see Tottenham or Newcastle would offer him even 200k. probably 150-170 top and some bonuses. if we need to complete that at least for 2 years left its about 10-15m fee, which we my hand over to him from the fee of around 35-40m we can get for him.

thats something possible imo for a club like Spurs or Newcastle especially if they are in CL next season. he would became one of their highest earner, but CL experience and chance to restart his career under new manager. also nice bit of income for pubs around Tyneside or some London night clubs:)

I mean Spurs spent 60m on Solanke.

any fucking loan deals where we partially pay his salary like Sterling to Arse, and Chelsea pays for that is sick.

Same applies to Walker, Bernardo, Ake, Stones and Gundo, the fees we receive will be irrelevant but the saving in wages will be massive.

A loan with us paying most or all of the wages should only be a viable option if it's a) a youth player we can't give enough minutes to now but we want him to develop so we can either play him in the future or sell him for a better fee than he'd currently get, or b) a disruptive presence in the dressing room that we're not getting offers for right now but we need him away from the team.

Jack's a senior player who as far as we know is a positive or at least neutral impact personality-wise.

If we don't want to play him we should be prioritising a sale for a decent fee, with second choice being a loan that covers most or all of his wages.

Personally I'd keep him but if the rebuild means getting rid then I'm not going to dwell on it, but I don't want us paying his wages for him to play for a rival. Same with any of the players the club wants to get rid of.

Don't see why Grealish wouldn't want to go back to Villa if they get Champions League...

Free up his insane wages and KDB’s and we’ll be in such a good position to bring in new talent.

We only offered him so much cos Villa went insane and offered him like 400k a week.
