I'm not sure about "past 12mths" a few lads have had a few rough months but we won the league last year FFS.

He gets singled out because he cost 100m and has bags of talent but seems to play within himself every week. Everyone wants more and he needs to show it.
I don't care how much he cost. Only Rags, Dippers and the media does.

He's not been consistantly awful. If his main criticism is "he should be doing better than we think he is capable of being", it's not much of a reason to get on his back every week, IMHO.

You are preaching to the choir mate. Fyi, i just replied to your post to summarise what people think, not my opinion.

Alternatively, he won it so he took it. Just like Doku. Just like Nunes earlier this season.
Especially without Haaland on the pitch, in a situation where we're several goals ahead, if you won it and you want it, who's going to object?

Obviously the caveat is the opposition was shit. But I won't let that stop me thinking that Doku had a great game or that McAtee scored a lovely hattrick, so -
Bit lacklustre first half, better in the second. Won a penalty and scored it well. Couple of assists. A few lovely passes that could have been more assists. And 90 minutes of football into his legs.

It's a good evening for Jack. Now he just needs to build on that. I think his relief at having scored a goal was highly visible so hopefully that relieves a little bit of the pressure that he's clearly been struggling with.

Played well and got the fabled G/A number up even if its only against Salford.

Hopefully it just gives him a lift in his confidence.

The fact our record signing started this and wasn't benched with the other automatic starters tells us where he's currently at. Was never going to be anything for him to take from this kind of game other than a confidence boost and a goal after more than a year without one should provide that. Well taken pen.

Glad to see him smile & get minutes. He needs a run of games & I want him to kick on now
Agree he needs minutes but where does he play? Savio has taken the left side and I think Doku is next in the pecking order.

Midfield maybe but we’re getting numbers back there too. 10 might be his best bet but hes way down the pecking order there too.

My only evidence for this is my own lip-reading ability, but in the 80-somethingth minute someone played a pass a bit too far ahead of him and after he'd tried to catch it then given up I thought he said "fucking hamstring".

I hope Pep has lit the fire under him.

I may be in the minority, but I kinda hope we keep him next season.

I suspect a couple senior players will leave like KdB, and Grealish can offer flexibility as backup LW or 8 or 10.
