....."a bad smell".....

He's not Cancello, I understand that he's one of the most popular guys in the locker room.
Perhaps I phrased it poorly; I doubt he is an issue amongst the squad, but if there’s an issue between the manager and Grealish, then I can’t see how having that hanging the place would be beneficial if the player has no way back.

He’s an established player, previously a key player for us, and now he’s getting the same treatment as an academy player stuck on the bench to make up the numbers.

It’s pretty clear his time is done and he needs a change of scene. Never worth £100 million, but never factored that into my equation as it’s irrelevant once the money has been spent imo. Think he’s made an overall decent contribution in his four seasons here. At times good, occasionally very good, at other times not so good.

Let’s not forget he’s won three PL titles. Some of the stick he’s had whilst being very much part of that amazing sequence was completely unwarranted.

If he does move on, I’ll certainly wish him all the best and wouldn’t be surprised if he stands out much more at somewhere like Spurs, but I can’t see a way back for him here now.
One of the problems at Spurs (apart from all the injuries etc.) is their gung ho attack where everyone rushes forward, leaving them vulnerable to losing the ball when everyone's high up the pitch.

It's similar to the problem we used to have particularly in the Champions League, which Jack was one of the tools we used to overcome. A little bit more stability in forward areas, giving the confidence that a ball you send forward isn't going to immediately come back to you at the feet of your opponent, is a really useful thing to have.

Unfortunately we've taken a bit of a wrong turn somewhere and as a team we've become both too hesitant up front and too vulnerable at the back (as well as brittle and ineffective in midfield). And Jack isn't really the solution to those problems (if we're not willing to investigate what he can do for the midfield). If anything he makes the hesitation worse because we're not looking for a calming influence anymore, we're looking for some oomph.

Stick him in that Spurs team with all those dynamic runners around him, link him up with his mate James Maddison, get Ange to put an arm round him and tell him he believes in him...he'll be linking up play and helping the whole team be better in no time.

One of the best performances of the season (thin praise, appreciated) was him in the middle against Forest. Not sure what's happened, but it does look like his time has gone. Hard to argue he's been a success when he's had one good season in four, but my god what a good season it was.

Grealish played in the middle vs Juventus as well. he was awful.

now Pep clearly said he wants end product from wingers, since he said that Grealish playing time is less and less. but we said it long before in this topic he needs to bring better numbers from left wing. he didnt and now Savinho, Doku, Marmoush all will be played sooner than him imo in left wing.

this latest that he is not being used, and kept as unused sub which is a new low for him in his City career is clearly message to his agent. start looking for a club who can bring us an acceptable offer.
But the bizarre thing is he came on against PSG and finally had some end product, and we haven't seen him since.

Yeah. He didn’t play well at Juventus but then the whole team was poor and has been plenty of other times this season. The Forest game was some of the best football we’ve played all season.

It seems strange but obviously we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. However, it seems he’s finished here and badly needs a fresh start.

He's had a shockingly poor season and all after the disappointment of missing the Euros.

Not good for anyone, we need to cut our losses and Grealish needs to find a club where he will be the major figure and get his career back on track, he looks a very unhappy bunny at this time.

1 goal is not end product that too when ball kindly fell too him and as a footballer that is basic thing you are expected too

Hard to have a good season when the Manager is pigheadedly freezing you out and you're not playing.

For a reason, the guy looks like a paraffin lamp, something is clearly wrong behind the scenes, he needs to get away, the sooner the better, his career is going backwards.

What's the reason then?
Not conjecture.
No idea but the guy looks a mess to me, he clearly is not impressing in training.

The situation is no good for anyone but my worry is MCFC and it's clear his time with our club is coming to an end.

last scored in the league December 2023. funny thing he scored 3 goals in that month. Luton and Palace game as well and Spurs we only beat Luton tho.
he did not score a league goal in any other month of the 23-24 season. and neither in the current season.
August, Sept, Oct, Nov (2023), Jan, Feb, March, April, May, August, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec (2024), Jan 2025
not one goal scored by him in all these months listed.

show me another winger in PL with this record. from last 18 months. only can think one that colossal flop at rags Antony.

Hasn't played much and we're having our worst season in 8 years. Didn't play yesterday - apparently he's a problem. Also see: Lewis, Rico.

Yeah but he was there for the tap in when he is usually never there to begin with.

I don't think Rico is nearly the same category. He was played into the ground to cover for a middle, even when it was obvious that he needed protecting. The adapted system means the wing backs are playing wide, and Kova is now (meant) to be covering ground in the middle. Rico is just a personnel, form, and system thing, I'm 99% sure of it. Jack can't get a start for love nor money.
