He is at his best when given the free role ,having said that even at his best he does not have the numbers to play for Man city

That would be a fair answer, if we'd seen the minutes to even evaluate him. But we haven't. He's been given almost no minutes. When he has, as far as I can see, he's been satisfactory. Not great — but then, who has been for the last two or three months? Doku, as I say, has been very on and off (and I'm excited by the lad, when he's “on”, and I've said it on here several times), even Savinho has been very quiet in certain games. Now that can only mean that Pep's seeing something behind the scenes — in training — or hearing something behind the scenes, which he doesn't like. Pep is under no obligation to reveal that, of course, but hence I remain mystified.
I'm being put in the false position of seeming to big him up. I'm not. I'm just saying, give the lad a crack of the whip, before shunting him out. We may regret it. And preferably in the position where he can make a difference. And that's not on the wing — agreed.
 
Was the only one besides Savinho creating chances in the first half. Finishing needs to be better.

Too bad he's still not going to get more than 180 minutes in a month. Would be worth a try in the midfield because Bernardo played 70 minutes he didn't need to and Gundo played the whole 90.

You're going to get a midfield of Kova-Gundo/Bernardo-KdB with a front 3 of Savio-Haaland-Foden and you're going to like it.

Would love to see him terrorize the Madrid players who are a booking away from a suspension in the second leg and add some energy to the midfield.

So would i but sadly for Jack there are more options than him on better form despite todays good showing.

Maybe on the wing, but he can't be worse than Gundo, Kova or Foden in the middle if Gonzalez can handle the minutes that are going to be thrown at him.

Foden and Kova have had far better games than Jack in the middle this season.
Gundogan was excellent v Brugge as well.

Far better? Really? How many absolute stinkers or empty shirt performances have those three dropped already this season?

Grealish hasn't been great, but he hasn't been outright poor like those three have in multiple appearances. How do they still get chance after chance to find form while Grealish can play like he did today after playing less than 180 minutes in January?
