It’s hard to know what’s going on. Pep says everyone is fit, presumably that includes Sergio, but for some reason he can’t get a game.

The sad truth is Sergio is 32, he has been injured more than he’s played in the past couple of seasons. When he came on the other night he looked short of pace. He’s out of contract at the end of the season but I haven’t seen anything in the media to suggest the Club is offering an extension but there are rumours Barcelona are ready to give him a contract.

As sad as it is, I think we have to face the likelihood that another legend is reaching the end of the road with us.

Feel it's in his and our destiny that he's scoring an earth shatteringly important goal for us this season and going at the end of the season (think Vinny).

I haven't read the thread but if anybody thinks Sergio will ever play for City in any kind of meaningful way they are going to be disappointed. I'd love him to get a scoring cameo in an already-won cup final or league decider or something but there won't be any more than that. Wednesday told the world where we are at: he wasn't picked despite being fully fit and needing game time, and when he came on he was a million miles off the pace.

What a hero but it's over now.

Winning goal in the CL Final would be a fitting way to bow out.

If you need a goal with 10 minutes to go he’s still probably the best shout. Not trying to dispute he’s well past his best but I don’t he looked a million miles off considering his lack of minutes. Still showed movement that made him a level above anyone else at the club when it comes to goal scoring.

That's probably the best we can hope for: he comes on in a game where we are desperately chasing a late goal and gets an instinctive finish. That would be a fitting finale. Or we get the league sewn up nice and early and give him a game or two. Here's a nice scenario: we get 10,000 in for the last game of the season with the league won and get to give him a farewell, maybe even a goal or two.
