Too much sentiment there for me. What he has done before is without question, but he has been out for the best part of a year and we don't know what toll, if any his injuries may have had.
Has the rest of this season to command his place, but as he is getting so little game time, maybe we are seeing the end of the Aguero era
There are so many reasons in favour of his staying that is hard to write. The rags took Cavani, who had one sabbatical, way older than Aguero, and is their best striker. Ibra, Lewa, Benzema, Suarez, all 30+ and doing a great job. People were even thinking if we need one stop gap like Giroud to supply our attacking force.. I am in favour of signing a new ST, especially Haaland, but there will be plenty of playing time for all our players. And who knows if the best young ST in the world would adapt to PL in his first season? He outmuscles 90% of Bundesliga defenders, but will probably do so with 10% of PL defenders. We all know that it takes at least a season to acomodate with Pep s tactics, so what we do if we only have Jesus for next year? As far as I can see we need a new ST to acomodate for 1 season and learn from Kun until he becomes nr 1. Jesus gives us something different, I like him and his work rate, but his finishing is poorer than Iheanacho s.Too much sentiment there for me. If Aguero leaves, we will have Jesus and a new ST at his first season under Pep and PL. For sure he will not bang them for fun next season, being it Haaland. If he goes to Barcelona he will score 25+ goals a season easily. Personally I would keep him 1 more year until he decides to go to Independiente. No other European club should enjoy Kun again! For me this is the key. Whatever we do should be based on "What he can do" and not what he has done.
We owe all City greats a lot. Appreciation, adulation, a Statue, a Cake, a job in the front office if they are thinking of that... But the one thing we DON'T nor should owe our greats is making the team weaker just to appease and keep them. That we don't owe them.
Thus, the decision must be made on whether they make us better than others who might come here will.
He always needs 5-6 games to go up to speed, so I would not be worried if he is not firing with all cilinders this game.Come on sergio, shut people up
What a strange reactionLove Aguero, good to see him back on the scoresheet, but looks well past it sadly
He gets nowhere near a full strength team in a must win game for us anymore
