Oh and the other thing is, when we got 100 points, we won the league Cup too. I'd have to check how far we got in the other competitions but the fact remains, we didn't put all our eggs in one basket. You know, just saying.

Ah but don't forget we have 'bigger' squad - must be true because the pundits repeat it every single game. You would have thought the PL rule book would insist every team had the same size squad.......

Note that Liverpool failed to win 100 pts in a season in which the traditional forces in the PL, the likes of MU, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs...were largely underwhelming for their standards, same with City due to multiple factors starting with injuries. Everything was going their way and they still failed to break any significant record. That's amazing for the best team ever.

Good points. It puts into perspective last season, where we won the league against a side that won their last 9 games, at one point had a huge lead, and got 97 points, as well both European finals being contested by English sides too. It could be argued that last year was the strongest ever Premier League. And we won.

I'm sure he ran his bollocks off and recorded his personal best..!

Thing is, he's a bit like the Dippers, no fucker really cares about him..!

Had the chance to write their name in the history books but came up short..!

100 points in a single, unbroken season, f'kin phenomenal achievement, only ever been done once in the history of English football..!

Must be an absolutely amazing achievement as the dippers with all their VAR assistance, mid season break and made up rules on the hoof couldn't do it..!

And, I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but let’s not forget that they were the first (and perhaps only) true beneficiaries of an implementation of VAR — and some would say very charitable officiating in general — that assisted them in very meaningful ways (especially when you consider how many games they won by a single goal).

They quite literally had *everything* go their way and they still fell short of greatness.

If anything, it could be argued their team and campaign last season was better than this season.

And they lost out then, too. ;-)

Things could have been soooo different this season, and lets face it lfc were going to win the PL at some point and much rather it was this year, the year of covid, VAR, no fans, no celebrations. tbh I wouldnt have wanted City to win it this year, what with the lockdown and *title and the media twist on the CAS ruling. Well it was Chris Chataway who had a successful athletics and broadcasting career, and was a nominated pace setter for Bannister so wasn't attempting to win the race, but I get your point.
