11 children injured in Blyth park dog attack

I think the reason staffs and one or two other breeds make the news more is because they have such a destructive bite. Bull terriers have exceptionally powerful jaws.
One of these going rogue poses a lot more danger to the public and other animals than a rogue chihuahua.

I`d sooner have a chihuahua shag my leg than go near a Staffs.

So why do we hear on a regular basis in the news that these dogs are so violent. The facts are that 11 children have been bitten/savaged.I would fucking ban these dogs from these isles if I had my way.
Because of the type of person who tends to get them. Banning them would be incredibly short sighted and completely overlooking the real problem, all that would happen is they'd just get the next breed and we'd have them attacking people instead. It's entirely about the owners

There is not a great deal of difference between a Staffy and pit bulls. Why they didnt ban Staffys at the same time is a mystery as it just makes the law almost impossible to enforce. I'd ban them all.

Have to agree entirely with you GM,ban the fooking lot of this type of dog.The owners need muzzling. ;)

Agreed – And I do own a big dog. It’s a Hungarian Vizla - generally to expensive and high class for chavs however if they became popular with scrotes and there were frequent attacks on kids I’d happily ban them as well. I’d keep banning breeds of dogs until scallys were walking around with yorkies on the end of a big chains.

And what do you think would happen to the chavvy owners who want and train an aggressive dog? Will they just give up on this idea or will they all start walking around with Jack Russels and Poodles? Of course not, they'll just move on to another breed, then another, then another. Banning the dog is completely ignoring the real problem.

It's all well and good blaming the owner but the problem is there is currently no way to regulate owners of potentially dangerous dog breeds. There is no licenses, there is no "good owner test" to ensure the people getting these dogs will treat them correctly and make sure they don't attack others dogs/children. Staffs are seen as status dogs and a lot of scrotes get them because of their vicious reputation. A lot more needs to be done to regulate dog ownership cos as much as people like to blame owners they can be extremely dangerous animals.
