Any dog if treated badly can become a nutcase... but certain breeds have traits that go beyond.

Certain breeds are more likely to be bought by wankers who think having a badly treated dog snarling on the end of a choke chain does something for their image. If they could afford Mastiffs and Bloodhounds we'd be having a conversation about those breeds instead. There's a really easy way to deal with cunts like that, make them criminally liable for their dogs actions. Dog attacks a kid? Prosecute them with aggravated assault or attempted murder of a minor.

Is it possible to cross a pitbull/ staff type dog with something bigger? Only reason I ask is my nephew and I were walking in France about 15 years ago when this man came along with this dog on a leash. My nephew said it was the biggest pitbull he'd ever seen. We stroked it and it was wagging it's tail . Neither of us are fluent enough in French to ask what type of dog it was . We tried and the FRenchman kept thinking we were asking the dogs name. A we didn't know word for type/kind/breed. It had all the pitbull features but was much bigger and looked leaner and faster. I'd put the dogs weight at around 10 stone. To this day it's always puzzled me as to what the hell it was.

Could have been some kind of Mastiff or Boxer crossbreed, I had a pitbull boxer cross that wasn't far off a big boxer in size but was mostly bull terrier in appearance. She was a lovely dog, choked on a tennis ball when she was 3 unfortunately.

I have yet to see an article about a retriever,a pug,a labrador,a poodle,a larso apso,a dalmatian and the likes being in the news for these sort of attacks.Different story with this type of dog yet again.

A next door neighbour of mine some time ago was attacked by his own golden something or other - retriever, labrador, whichever one is the golden one. Dug its teeth right into his arm. Anyone looking at what his arm looked like after he'd got back from the hospital would have thought his dog had near bit it off!

Yer never know, riding yer bike down Rochdale Canal, which dog is the one which is just an attack away from being a wolf, or a hyena!!

Agreed, should have put the woman down, the dog too !!

:) Maybe not in this case with the disabled woman (although she shouldn't have let the dog out unsupervised) but the dog shelter need their heads looking at for not making sure she could look after it (or had someone willing to walk it for her as I've done for an elderly neighbour before when walking my own).

Agree but also let certain breeds be stopped from recreating. The dogs themselves aren't harmed.

Do they ever do autopsies on the dogs? It would be intersting to know if they had a disease or a brain tumor that made them more aggressive suddenly.

Why? Why engineer the extinction of breeds just because people are wankers? Pitbulls get banned, they move to Staffs, if Staffs get banned, they'll move to Rottweilers, then Collie breeds, then Lab breeds etc etc. Ban wankers with bad records from owning dogs instead, ban any breed from being outside their home property without a leash (already done in Ireland) a couple of attacks don't justify wiping out an entire breed.

Ok, and just to state i and many others have never picked a Staffie as a status symbol...

I choose Staffies based on their loyalty, size, and ability to regularly run with me.

I'd choose an Alsation or husky but my. House is slightly too small for that breed of dog.

I wasn't suggesting for one second you picked it for any other reason than it fits your life. Lots do though unfortunately.
they are very strong dogs and in the wrong hands can be lethal. Like guns
