Deadly serious

He has had 3 good games, away at west ham, bournemouth at home vs Aarons who gets roasted by every winger in the League and against a 37 year old Milner. Injury prone, lazy, poor touch poor final ball. Spends 2 minutes on the floor every time he is tackled.

Thats what I actually 100% think of Doku, think its a joke we forced a hugely talented local lad out for him.

Bobb will relegate him to obscurity within 18 months. Save this post.
Absolutely awful take. Those three games were fantastic games from him, not good games. If he plays like that every game, he would be in GOAT contention. If you think anything below GOAT contention is "not good enough" then maybe you should ask yourself what is the reason your standards are so high when it comes to this player.

IMO apart from that Tottenham match recently, every game he played he has been good and was the main outlet for chance creation. People just don't understand how hard it is to find with a cross that one player in the box which is covered by five defenders, at full speed with a defender breathing down your neck.

People really think that if they shit on Doku they are somehow original, smarter than the others, true connoisseurs of the game. Its actually the opposite, their analytical shallowness is exposed.

I really like him. I love watching him run at people and he adds an exciting element to our attack.

We knew his end product needed work when we signed him. Sometimes it doesn't come off and sometimes he'll grab 4 assists. Being unpredictable is why he's so hard to tackle!!

People should calm down and trust the process... I.e Pep's coaching!

For me 7/10 performance at best.

yes he went at them and yes his tracking backs got better, but he still has the same levels of falliling to beat the first man as Martin Petrov ;-)
I think he stood out as being decent because everyone else was so poor first half. He was the only one who looked like doing anything. I didn’t think he played particularly well and it wasn’t his best game for us, but so many didn’t yesterday. Our biggest problem I thought was Akanji. He is too slow of thought for me to be anywhere other than at the back and even then I would prefer him on the bench.

He's a great option at centre back or at right back if we're struggling with injuries.

I've always thought one of the biggest things he struggled with was when he had the ball at his feet. He looks calm and composed, but it doesn't come naturally to him. Luckily he always has options showing for the ball.

Fair play to him for not looking to out of his depth in doing the job he's asked, but I'm surprised Pep plays him in there. Can only imagine he's a very intelligent player rather than having immense ability.

I like the kid, having him available for the team is a massive plus, some one that can rip a defense to pieces. He just has to be more productive with his final ball. I think he’ll come on in leaps and bounds by this time next year

Looking a million miles off our level recently in my opinion. I feel a little deflated when I see him starting. Cole Palmer is twice the player.
Palmer looks decent taking penalties for a mid table side - clearly found his level. Doku is still adapting to play at the very highest level and despite not being the finished article has done more in his first 5 months than palmer did for nearly two years for us.

Got to the white line so many times on Saturday and on other days he will find a shirt.
He was the livewire first half but needs to change his studs as he slips and slides a lot.
Play him.He scares defenders is young and Pep will polish him.

Still not convinced by him myself, as others have said he was the only real spark we had going forward in the first half of the Everton game but his passing in the final third was woeful and he lost the ball a lot.

That being said he is young, terrifies defenders and will only get better under Pep’s stewardship.

Plays like a vehicle running out of fuel! Splutters in games and makes the wrong decision sometimes but you can see he has the quality. Mindset is yet to be seen, tracking back needs to stay consistent to claim a starting place.

So far it’s been an ok to good signing. Overall far too early to decide if the transfer is successful. More worried about Nunes myself.

City have a plan and it’s working mostly on recruitment. We can’t buy another Kev or silva or Foden or Haaland while the current ones are here. Last summer we went for experience in kova and then young and inexperience in Doku, kova and nunes. The strategy is clear, we buy good quality players and that keeps the pressure off pep having to start them over the above players but we do need them to perform when those top players are not available. Same with Akanji in defence last season.

So far it works well.

I can never understand why a fan would want to have a player fail, just so they can be proved right.
