Probably the only attacking player along with Marmoush who has shown some initiative and quality this year. A road runner in a team filled with static training cones. Unfortunately since our record signing has decided to retire from professional football, Doku's been the one to pick up that slack on the left.

I think that's a really generous appraisal. The reality is he's a £55m signing who's not materially improved in the last two years. He's had some great moments like the assist v Villa but all too often he displays a complete lack of end product. If the squad didn't need the surgery it did I'd be moving him on this summer. We need better to get back to the top.

It won’t make a blind bit of difference moving Doku on unless other areas of the team improves drastically, I don’t get this notion of just blaming the wingers when it’s the system of inverted wingers and slow movement from back to front that’s the big problem.

I'm not blaming him, I just don't think he's a very good footballer. He got the ball a lot yesterday and whilst he's great at beating his man he ultimately does very little after.

He needs to work on his shooting and left foot. He is a zero threat to score himself.

said it before but he didnt improve with the ball at all compared to his first few weeks. he will have a hard time to rack up goals and assists in the PL. I would keep him as impact sub but think he was expensive for that role. Barca bought Raphina for 50m or so. Arsenal bought Trossard for much less.

Fair enough I see it differently to you, as an aside our opponents on Tuesday Bournemouth, when we thrashed em 18 months ago Doku had 4 assists and a goal in that game, so there’s definitely a good player in there.

He needs a fully functioning team around him. I’ve seen peuple say Doku Savinho Dias Haaland Foden Pep all aren’t good enough so it’s a big fucking shrug from me until next season.

OMG just let it go.. we started with 100 mil, went to 150.. and Spurs would not even pick up the phone.

Instead they called Richard Masters 11500 times to get us charged with the 115.

Some clubs just hate us.. easier to make a deal with Rags and Dippers than them!
Im more than entitled to have an opinion and I don’t need a lecture on the well documented background
My point is still the same Haaland ain’t for us and I used Kane as an example of what Haaland could or needs to be to have a overall impact especially in a game like yesterdays

Still needs to improve that final ball. He doesn’t look up to where players are, it’s just a kick and hope into the penalty area.

It's been 4 months since either of our wingers scored a goal in the league. That has to be a major problem when neither winger is making a regular contribution.

I'm still of the opinion we need an experienced winger.

We need 5/6 better players than what we have in this squad. He wasn’t the problem yesterday though (Currently top of the man of match vote on here) and without his impact at Everton and against Villa, we would already be done.

There is always a clamour for Grealish to play to add control but we had total control yesterday (which Palace were very happy for us to have) and Grealish has one goal and one assist all season so it is very likely he wouldn’t have added anything more than Doku did. Marmoush who could also play there was utter wank and missed a pen! He got 2/10 in one player rating report today and Haaland 3/10. Those two were much more culpable.

We haven't got one wide player be it attacking or defending who's good enough to play week in week out in a team that has aspirations to be winning the PL and CL.

I do like Doku, but think he's best utilised as an impact sub. Bring him on after 60-70 mins when the oppositions legs are tired. Last person you want to face when you're fatigued is Jeremy at 100 percent. You know fine well your lungs and legs will be burning.

As has been mentioned his end product often lets him down. Being introduced fresh later on probably gives him an extra half a yard to pick somebody out and why he seems so much more effective when he comes on off the bench.

Get the strikers to actually attack the near post and the most advanced 8 to hit the 6 yard line (old school Gundo style) and him and savio would both get double figures of assists next year

I'm not a huge Doku fan but blimey if you take away his performance yesterday, there was absolutely no one who actually posed a threat to Palace. He also put a shift in tracking back, which in previous games he's been lacking.

If any of the wingers deserved some stick yesterday it was Savinho, who was simply awful. Lightweight & constantly made the wrong decisions on the ball.

Doku can beat pretty much any defender one on one hands down. Problem is when he does, there's no one near post so he has to check back & play the inevitable ball back or across to Gvardiol.

Lost count this past year 99% of the time Haaland just seems to drop back far post. Make a near post run & even if you miss it you take a few players with you to expose space for others to follow up.

Agree with previous posters, what didn't help either wingers yesterday was the lack of overlapping runs by our fullbacks, which inevitably meant both Savinho & Doku had to beat either 2 or sometimes 3 defenders to create an opportunity. However, part of me thought it was probably for the best as knowing our luck the fullback would make the run, our wingers would get caught in possession & since our fullbacks were out of position it would be a free for all counter attack, since we had no genuine defensive midfielder to mop up this danger.
