11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Didn’t do enough today. I thought he was lucky to start - I don’t see him starting for a while now.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s sold

Same as usual, not progressed in the 2 years he's been with us

Give him one more season and then hopefully get our money back next summer

The less said about him the better

Was 4-0 after all, better things to focus on

To be fair to him I can't remember any occasion today where we put the ball ahead of him to run onto.

Hopefully the dynamism around him will see him get an extra yard and have more impact.

Didn't play well today.

I thought he looked a lot better back end of last season and seemed to do better at the CWC.

Would also point out that the team as a whole seemed a little timid first 20 minutes or so.

I didn’t think he was too bad and was unlucky not to have his FB booked.

I do think his best performances where as sub last year.

He does generally try and do something but that final ball is not there.

The better moves came from Bobb on the right.

I think Mahmoush can expect to start next game.

Doesn’t excel against back 5s. If he’s doubled up on, he’s mostly ineffective.
With his pace I think teams will drop back much faster. That opens up the midfield.

Agree that given the players who didn't start today he might lose his place. But of we play a team that pushes up with a high line. He would be the ideal man.

Comparing him with Bobb, they both do the same things, Bobb though has an end product.
Do you think? I see Doku as far more one dimensional in the Adama Traore sense. If he can’t move the ball past the full back and use his acceleration, he’s ineffective.

Bobb manipulates the ball quicker and weaves, resulting in him being able to get past multiple players quicker.

You're probably right, perhaps I should have said "they both try and do the same thing", and one is far more succesful, I enjoyed watching Bobb today, and wanted Doku off at half time.

I felt similar, but I need to give Doku some praise. His tracking back today was better than it has been.

He actually put in a cracking cross with his left foot early on which wasn't far off being perfect for Haaland. But otherwise he was very poor

It was a disgrace that the FB wasn’t booked after bringing Doku down

Wolves defended against him very well of the ball though he isn’t that good, Marmoush was much better at that..

Doku is capable of an amazing game once every 10 games or so. It's in-between those games that he is not only frustrating but becomes a weak point where we give the ball away too many times.

Someone said he is a good sub option and I think I agree with that, excellent coming on and shaking things up.

Doku will have a great season. And I will remind people of that prediction in 5-6 months. Don't forget he was one of the better players in the CWC.

Naturally, some of those who performed well in the US aren't in form yet. Generally, most players played no more than 90 minutes in friendlies before yesterday.
