Agree.

But we've got Reijnders, and Cherki in our squad and now can play through the middle on attack. I think that this will help Haaland a lot - because not only does the defense need to defend the wing, but it also needs to defend the middle against multiple threats. This will pull defenders towards our other threats - allowing Haaland more freedom - or if the defense concentrates on Haaland our other midfield attackers will carve them up.

Also... we're far more pacy this season. And thus a lung busting surge forward from a goal kick or pass from Ederson will see multiple attackers helping out Haaland on a break-away goal. I think our long ball attack will be much better next season and will result in far more goals than last season.

And still people won’t name one potential winger that would do better AND available.
 
I remember they used to say the same thing about Vinicius Junior to the extent his own team was plotting not to pass him the ball. Look at him now!
 
Liked him in that narrow 433 (I hope the formation we do going forward).

Letting him play inside suits him or Marmoush (we just rotate between them).

He will get alot more goals or assists this way.

Hope he doesn't get pinned wide, loved seeing the interchange between him, Ait Nouri and Reijnders/Gundogan.

Likewise on the right, I think Savinho/Cherki with Nunes and Foden/Bernie interchanging is more difficult to stop.
 
I think Doku is the perfect bench player. Literally perfect which is why I’d definitely keep him around. Bags of pace, trickery and energy. But I just can’t see him ever being able to hold down and solidify a starting spot for a team with the aspirations that we have.

He probably looked the most dangerous player for us in the club World Cup which was encouraging, but I can’t look past the fact that he literally always hold onto the ball too long. Always has to be the one to create/score the goal rather than be the one who sets up the player who creates the goal if that makes sense.

There were a few instances in the last games, Al Hilal especially where Reijnders/Gundo ran in behind and he could’ve clipped a ball over the top to set them free but he chose to do his little shimmy inside/outside and deliver a ball himself.

He’s undoubtedly quality at what he does but just think he’s far too one dimensional to be regarded as a starter. He’s young and that decision making could still come. If it ever does we’ve got a real player

When no one else in the lineup offers much threat, opposition can afford to close down Doku / double / triple up on him. I reckon with Reijnders, Cherki and Ait-Nouri in the side he will get a lot more space and less attention from the opposition, and we'll see his numbers go up.
 


Do think this is the side of the game he needs to work on, and Savinho. They would get so many games also like Sterling used to do.
 
If he improves his decision making and finishing he would be excellent but its been a while and he really hasn't I hope he can this season

Great advice from the captain as per usual.

In my opinion, Jeremy has the greatest chance of any established squad member to take the jump this season from an above average player to world class talent.

With the lack of a winger transfer this summer + letting Jack walk, it seems like the club / Pep is banking on him taking a big step and hopefully becoming a PL Team of the season type talent for us this year.

My hope for him is 15+ league goals and 10+ league assists. If he does that, then the league + other trophies seem more possible.
We shall see if he has it in him.
