not your cup of tea then?So unbelievably poor off the ball, both when we're in possession and not. Nowhere to be seen in support of the attack for the second and third goals. Marmoush came on and immediately pressured Doherty, took the ball and got the player booked as he knew Marmoush would be away in behind. Doku would never make that sprint and even if he did he's too slow to get there.
A bit confused some can still be talking about his wondrous pace having watched him for two seasons. A nice burst of acceleration but over distance he's the slowest we have other than possibly Bernardo and the goalkeepers. If he was brainless but actually rapid and prepared to make the odd run off the ball he might be halfway useful in a similar way to Martinelli or Garnacho.
Pluralistic ignorance.
Jeremy 'no product' Doku had more goal involvements per 90 in all club competitions last season than Cole Palmer, especially without penalties.
139 minutes per a non-penalty goal-involvement for Doku vs 151 for Palmer.
Doku's "friends" are welcome to comment.
As a side note, Doku's stats per 90 are better than those of Rodrygo, too.
Congrats to Chelsea on winning the premier league with an incredible 103 eye test points breaking the infamous City centurions.Do you think Doku is better than Palmer?
I'm not quite sure that stands up to the eye test no matter what stats you pull out.
Thank god football isn't played and judged on numbers alone - that's best left to those that don't really know what they're seeing.
Not saying Doku can't be good either - but he's no where near the level of Palmer overall.

I couldn’t give a shit what Doku looks like on the eyes if the guy is scoring and assisting.
How does Doku not pass the eye test btw, bloke plays the game 100Mph, takes the piss out of most full backs and if he scores it’s usually a cracking finish, rarely does a tap in (which he could definitely add to his game)

You are missing the point. Palmer is widely regarded as very productive and some (of our own) fans regard Doku as very unproductive.
It's obvious, the charge that Doku is unproductive is somewhat exaggerated, given that he was more productive per 90 than Palmer last season. Some simply don't like Doku and invent reasons to criticise him.
Palmer was sensational in 23/24, Doku has never had such a season so far. Based on that Palmer is the better player. Note, however, that Chelsea have made him absolutely central to their game. Chances are, he would be nowhere near as productive at City, we can't afford to build the team around him, having Haaland, Foden, Rodri, and so on.
Your points are only ever based purely on looking at a number sheet.
You said it doesn’t stand up to the eye test.Who said that?
I insinuated that Palmer was the better player for those that watch them both play.
I think the vast majority of football fans would agree with this.

They should preserve you in formaldehyde.I like Doku... He plays for City... I support City players... I am a City supporter.

His burst of pace is off the scale good. Over 20 yards very few would get anywhere near him. Slag him all you want but his pace is a huge asset not a problem.
