I suggested it but I do also agree with you. I do think though if it would work for him anywhere now, with us would be his best bet. I don't think he's picked other clubs well and also they haven't treated him well. People forget exactly how good he was for us because in the end we knew he'd miss those one on ones and also couldn't watch him attempt a tap in with any confidence. He was brilliant at his best though.

Yes they're both young, but I've seen enough of both now to know that neither will ever be good enough to make a difference

He's bigger , stronger and faster than Lewis
 
He's a very odd player and athlete in general

I don't think I've seen someone who can run so quick over 5-10 yards but their top speed after that distance is actually not impressive at all. He's explosive for a very short distance and that's it.

As for his actual ability, he's pretty mediocre outside of dribbling over the first few yards.

I've often said he's basically an Adama Troare type. Traore is much quicker over a distance. Maybe Doku is ever so slightly better with the ball, but generally they're around the same level. If you didn't really understand football, theyd look incredible to the untrained eye but their actual ability is mediocre.

much like Traore, Doku will spend his career floating around top flight clubs because there will always be teams that think they can get something out of his ability to dribble and that it might click into place.... But it won't.
 
Doku is a Traore style player. His football motivation is in dribbling around players, very like those waltz dancing competitors. Their goals are showing the agility, the control, the courage, tricks. If there is nobody around to dribble against, they will wait for one. some of their moves are stunning, like clowns do. So dancing clowns may be a positive term for them.

He tries to dribble everywhere on the pitch. When he receives the ball, it seems like time stands still. He doesn't know how to bring a sequence of play to life; no one knows what he's going to do, not even his teammates.

He has a below-average football IQ.

This is a pivotal third season for him; either he's showing visible improvement, or he should be sold in the summer.
 
if he left with Savinho this summer and we signed Rodrygo I think we would have a stronger squad. We would have Marmoush and rodrygo to play on the left and cherki/ foden/ Bobb on the right. In other words we don’t need him

For the love of God, someone please go back in for Williams at Bilbao and get rid of these average players. It's a miracle that Barca made a mess of that transfer, we just need to capitalize on that and sign that kid. Same age as Doku, already a starter for his national team, very composed and knows what to do and when to do it. I was a fan of Doku but it's just not happening, if it's not happening now then its never happening. Doku is an Everton level player. We can't be thinking of playing at the highest level with players like Doku and Sav in the team. Time to move on

I agree. If we get Rodrygo I can see Doku being sold this window
 
Doku could play for 48hrs straight and still make nothing happen. He’s levels below what’s needed if you want to win leagues and cups, as is Bernardo, gundogan, Nunez and Akanji.
 
My opinion is that he should play RW.

That’s where he played for Rennes. That’s where he played on his debut. It’s true he didn’t impress that much the times he’s played there, but he’s only ever played there 3 times.

The reason I’m suggesting that is because he’s just too inconsistent to have the freedom that playing LW gives him.

Doku’s decision making should be limited. When he plays RW, all he can do is attack the byline. It makes the attack better because Haaland can actually predict what he’s going to do.

A lot of people complain about Doku’s crossing, but I genuinely believe a lot of it has to do with him crossing with his left foot most of the time. Maybe if he had more chances to cross from his right foot the success rate would be higher.

Also with Cherki/Foden playing in the right half space that will give Doku more 1v1 opportunities. Opponents won’t double mark as much because they won’t want Foden free in the pockets waiting for the ball on the half-turn and ready to leather it into the far corner.

They also won’t want Cherki to have more time on the ball to create game breaking opportunities. Neither of those two underlap so there’s really no need for inside wingers. If we had actual goal scoring wingers, then sure, but we don’t.

I know one of the reasons Doku moved to LW was because Grealish was toothless + he struggles to shield the ball on the RW vs the LW. However, something has to give.

I think it’s worth a shot.

surely this is the season for him to deliver. 3 seasons at a top club like this you need to take your chance and shine otherwise will be replaced.

not saying he needs to pull of a season like Palmer had at Chelsea 2 years ago or last season, but we sold him for less than what we spent on Doku in same window.

step up Doku, now or never.

I think if we sign rodrigo this guy could be used as a decent impact sub
