11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

It's starting to click now, he's pure chaos but he's learning to slow it down but still keep that unpredictability, that's all to do with Pep, I'd even say Kompany who had a few words in the summer with him has helped.

Actually, Doku has said on camera that it was Henry that was the one that influenced his game change as he understood him the most.

The discussion wasn't who is better at the time because a plain boxscore watching can decide that. The question was did City make a mistake for selling Palmer and buying Doku. No because Doku was always going to be the better player regardless of form or temporary development curve.

And no I'm not telling everyone that Doku was shit - he is my favorite player, duh. I just have a tendency to overanalyze and I believe he can be a BDO contender if he corrects some flaws - mainly his off ball runs and motor.
I always thought the discussion was why did we sell both Mahrez and Palmer and only bring in Doku, we needed another as well as Doku so we should have kept Palmer as well as buying Doku.

He has always been a player of vast potential, as many people suggested.
Young players are not the finished article - look at their strengths and what they can bring to the team.
Then look at what they could improve and what their attitude is to working on those development areas.
It is hard to develop if you are not getting minutes, so fans must be patient enough to allow that development on the field of play.

What we are now witnessing, by nearly any measure, is one of the most influential players in the PL. Let us also remember that it is the whole team that provides the opportunity to thrive - on the pitch, and off it.

Jan Mulder was part of Cruyff's Ajax.

In 19/20, when KDB made 20 assists in the league, he created 3,34 open-play chances per 90 minutes. In the Treble season, KDB created 2,4 open-play chances per 90.

This season, Doku has been creating 3.32 open-chances per 90 in the league.

That is, Doku has been about as creative in open play as prime KDB. But KDB did it over many seasons... Doku has to be consistent.

Would be great if Doku could add more goals to his game.

Anyone who knows me knows I loved Grealish at City, but Doku's currently on 41 G/A in 100 games for City... Grealish finished on 40 G/A in 157 games. If Doku can start to learn aspects of Grealish's pausa ability that made him so important to that treble team, we really could be onto something.

When was the last individual performance in a big game at that level by either a city or non-city player, Winger or not?

We dont tend to get that in the big games as its usually a team effort. Kdb against wolves and Stoke springs to mind but not the same level of opponent, Yaya at Newcastle and whilst that was crucial, again it wasn't a top of the table clash. Looking away from us, im thinking perhaps hazard, who had a couple or Bale ruining Inter and ending Maicons career.

That is going to be something that's remembered not just by us city fans but as a premier league great performance.

What? Doku is by far our best winger from a defensive stance. When he first arrived he was woeful defensively but he turned himself around from a defensive liability to a fantastic defensive contributor a long time ago. I'd be surprised if there are many players, not even wingers that have won the ball back more than Doku this season
I'm not on about winning the ball back, I'm on about positional awareness and leaving the full back exposed, which happened on sunday.
He's improving all the time but needs to ensure its in every aspect of his game
