11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Only one ahead of Gonzalez who could give Newcastle a scare. Going to be run into the ground at this rate since we can't afford to not play him.

We're going to overplay him if we're not careful. We're getting very reliant on him to create game after game. Looked tired second half (unsuprisingly).
We are in a strange position of being reliant on him creating. Nobody saw that coming a few months ago.

It comes back to the transfer business. IMO, we have bought some right shite in recent seasons and now we rely on Doku and Haaland and if they both have an off day, we have nobody else we can look to.

Played well, but not as well as he has done recently. Shame we couldn’t convert the chances he created. Less effective second half. But again, and I’ll admit it after heavy criticism from me, he’s improved a lot recently and I hope it continues.

Have to keep him fit so as not to stop his form.

He was good when playing more inside in the first half. Became less effective when asked to do a touchline winger job.
He needs to offer more runs into space instead of always wanting the ball at his feet, as that gives the defenders time to get organised again.

I think I've counted 5 maybe 6 massive chances he's created for players that haven't converted over the last few prem games, his weakest part of the game used to be not being able to find players with that final pass, now that he's doing it, none of them can score.

He was the best in attack, even if he faded a bit in the second half due to fatigue, but he should never have been substituted; he's the only one capable of unlocking a defense. Unfortunately for him, for some unknown reason, Haaland and Foden didn't manage to score. Otherwise, he should have finished the match with at least two assists and been involved in another goal (the pass to O'Reilly for Haaland's chance). He and Cherki shouldn't have been taken off when we were losing; there was no more creativity after they left.

I’ve no problem with Doku seemingly running straight into defenders everyone expects your winger to skin everyone every time they receive the ball …. It doesn’t hapoen
When is is accused of running straight into someone what goes under the radar is he drawn 3 opposition players to him 2 dragged out of position I’d call that a success the problem is we need to be able to capitalise on that situation either by picking up the second ball or closing down the player emerging with the ball as this no doubt will be in their area
The real miss in this team is the collective energy to be close to possibilities anticipating outcomes pressing such situations as they happen
Last two seasons thus ain’t the case we seem to passively react to a situation and lose the initiative too often

His decision making was frustrating.

Sometimes he just needs to release the ball quickly and play it to the player in better position instead of keep running and trying to pass to Haaland.

His decision making?

Doku should be waking up with about 4 assists this morning. It's the shite finishing from those he was passing to that let the team down. I think king Kev would have been proud of some of those passes yesterday.

Ok maybe I being harsh letting two horrible passes overshadow his "brilliant" performance.
