He was absolutely sensational last night. What a player. He loves the club, he has so much hunger fight and determination but he really is a top class player. His movement, his ability to keep the ball, his workrate were phenomenal last night. He didn't look nervous, he didn't play a poor pass and he didn't dive in and get beaten at any point.

Whilst Pep deserves credit for using him at left back, we really need to appreciate what we have in Zinchenko. He's got better and better with every season and whilst we call it a problem position, our first goal last night was thanks to his movement (Ederson obviously deserves a lot of credit), and his ability to play the right pass when in that position.
 
It's easy to big up a guy after a win and an amazing performance, but i personally can only think of a 1 or 2 games that he's played poor for us? I remember one mistake cost us a game and he immediately went on social media to apologise. The guy seems like a top man, never complains and fights everything head on. Amazing.
 
A credit to this team and himself and a huge role model to all the youth players at our club

You don't have to have unlimited technical ability - you need to want to play your heart out and prove you are capable of playing

What zin lacks in ability he makes up with sheer drive, guts & determination. He could easily have left a while ago but he decided he was going to make it hear

Indeed. However, if it wasn’t for Fernandinho, he might not even be eligible to play, let alone in contention for starting, in the Final!
 
I'll be disappointed if we go back into the market for a LB now. Zinchenko first choice on the left with Cancelo, Mendy and maybe Aké to cover. He's improved so much in the last few years and proved time and again that he can handle the big games
