#11 | Oleksandr Zinchenko - 2020/21 Performances

There was so much to love about his performance last night. His aggressive man sandwich with Stones & Dias.
His very aggressive yet polite protest at the penalty. His going nuts and wrongly getting booked when Veratti(?) stood on Foden(was it)?
I bet he was licking his lips when it started snowing/hailstorming.
Then there was his performance to love too!

I've not been his greatest fan - in fact I've long regarded him as a weak link in our team. But hats off, that was a tremendous performance by him last night. What's become clear over recent games is that when he's taken on a more roving, Cancelo-like role - rather than out and out left back - he's actually a pretty fine midfield player. I guess that should have been obvious since we've all known he's been effectively filling in at left back for the past 3 seasons. But anyway, great game and hats off, superb performance.
 
He has been growing both as a player( and in my estimation ) probably since the turn of the year and now is a very integral member of the team.

His influence was apparent once he replaced Cancelo durung the away leg against PSG and we started to control the game .

Pep obviously knew what influence he has upon our performance, but the player deserves so much credit for his determination and application .

Have to admit, I posted not that long ago that I did not see what others were seeing. His last two performances have been immense and it’s a credit to him and a joy to behold. Well done lad well done
