It baffles me how any City fan could not have seen the gem that is Zinchenko. I don't even watch full matches of City honestly but I can see he is plain and simple a perfect fit to City's football style. You can actually permute the midfielders and attackers and our game would not look that much different. In contrast our tactics and style, with and without him is just completely different. Ever since Delph had that brilliant performance at LB in the 100 point season, I've developed a very strong preference for these types of LB's at City. What I find odd is he has never had a run of poor games all his time here yet a lot of his detractors never seem to be satisfied with his performances and always looking to undermine him. Sure he's had extended time off the pitch whether by injury or Pep not using him but when he does feature in the lineup it always at least a 7 for me.
You know all that without watching games ?

He was overemotional the other night.

Alright, it wasn’t a penalty but he was screaming at the ref before he’d even competed his VAR check; and he went well over the top when their lad flicked the ball off Foden’s head, and him pushing Fernandinho’s arms away was stupid.

There was no need for it because we were in control of the game and the rest of his game was sound, he played really well.

Calm the fuck down kid, otherwise other teams will see that as a sign of weakness and play on it.

Just a sublime pass at the start of the move for the second goal.

Add to that that astonishing pass to Sterling which he should have scored from if he hadn't stumbled. Oh, and the perfectly coordinated double block with John Stones where they basically make a wall out of their legs against the shot.
In certain ways the man still thinks like a midfielder, and that's where he plays for Ukraine. But he's learnt a lot about defending over the years.

To think we spunked £50m on a giraffe on rollerskates at left back and we already had his replacement at the club. It’s taken him a while to adapt to full back but no one can’t he’s not up to the job. I remember him making his debut at left back against Wolves in the CC back in 2017 and I felt then that he had it in him to grow into the role.

With very good understanding in Pep's football theory and massively improved performance on the ground, he's now become one of the very important players in the team.

Love his attitude on the pitch and loyalty to the club.
