Has mistakes in him, PSG will expose him I am afraid, and he is our weakest link. If he plays, we are done. Zin and John are both error-prone and so is Walker :(
That's very harsh. Weakest link? Give me a break. Will he have his hands full with Di Maria/Keane? It's very possible, but he's the best option we have right now.

Zinchenko is doing an admirable job,his versatility is fantastic and his attitude is spot on.However, look over the road at Shaw for the benchmark level of left back we need.

With a specialist forward thinking left back with a bit more pace and positional sense, and hopefully the ability to place dangerous pinpoint crosses.....this team would instantly be improved.

Respectfully, that's the funniest post I've ever heard on bluemoon, Gregg's face, deary me.

Put Shaw in our team and he will be nothing more than an upgrade on Mendy.

Why Zinchenko is so critically being looked at is beyond me. How many City games with Zinchenko in as left back do you need to watch before recognising the left flank is flowing?

Even his teammates know they can always play the ball to him to get it out of dangerous situations.

I think most City fans agree that Zinchenko has a good football brain and is an excellent passer of the ball. He will also be good enough defensively against most teams but, sadly, he will be exposed against the top teams with extremely fast and direct players. For me he is a great squad player but going forward we need elite players in every position to remain at the top. Left back and striker, I believe, are the two positions where we must try and recruit the very best talent available. If we can do that then the sky is the limit for this team.

It is impossible to have elite players in every position, it simply doesn't happen. Every player can make mistakes, get beaten in a one on one, miss control a pass and everything in between. Will Zinchenko get beaten in a 1-1 against Di Maria next week, probably. Di Maria has also ran rings around most defenders in europe, it happens.

I think we should sign a LB simply because Mendy just isn't going to ever get back to what he could have been and we can't run Zinchenko into the ground.

I appreciate your points about Zinchenko but, for me, I just don't think he is up to the standard of player we need for the first team. For example, would you rate Zinchenko at the same level as say Tierney at Arsenal or Robertson at Liverpool. We need a top left fullback to get even stronger as a team.

He hardly makes any mistakes. When was the last mistake he made that led to a goal? He’s not our weakest link, I don’t know why some people have got that planted into their minds.
