Your problem is really with pep. We play a midfielder at left full because manager trust's him TO FILL a position we are weak in. Not the player's fault.

He's papering over a huge issue at LB. Nothing against him, he played well today but doesn't change the fact he's not what we need.

Take away the fact he is not a great left back from the player, he comes in cold and plays well, give him the credit and he has earned his medals

Very good today. Defensively was sound against a very tricky opponent, stood up well, made tackles, has excellent awareness in terms of knowing where he needs to be which is more impressive considering its not his natural position. Doesn't offer much going forward as an attacking threat himselfbbut he does make it easier for us to keep possession and find players in space further up the field, does the Rodri role better than him from left back. Will never be the long term number 1 answer but can't fault him today deserves credit for that performance.

Very good game from him, especially considering he's barely played all season, defensively solid but what people havn't mentioned is that the first two goals came from precise inside balls from him.

Good game today, never feel like he will really give the ball away and considering he hasn't played much this season, we can probably forgive him for the last minute cock up. Played well otherwise.

Has always been better than Mendy and that's the fact.

P.S Actually, it's difficult to find worse fullback than Mendy right now. Cancelo played there, Ake played there, laporte had some minutes in the past and etc.. All were better than him :)

That was his best performance in a long time. If he can keep that level up then no reason he can’t have a future.

Just quietly went about his business today. No real bells and whistles, just a solid no nonsense performance.

Stepped in admirably last couple of games , never put a foot wrong and just as effective as Mendy going forward , he is not worth selling for less than £20-25m , he is a useful squad player and underrated by many.

When we're suffocating teams like we did today, he's a more than adequate option to have. His passing and pressing are most useful.

He’s good when he comes in like today.

After that initial season, like Delph before him, where he did really well I just don’t think he can do it on a long-term basis and just falls short with daft mistakes, poor positional play etc.
