Zinchenko is the weakest link in our side whenever he takes the field.

I love his attitude and commitment - but unless we intend to field him only in unimportant ties or when the game is already won - then we need an upgrade. The drop off in quality between him and any other player we start against strong sides is substantial.
"Zinchenko is the weakest link in our side whenever he takes the field.". Imo your statement/opinion is incorrect and not fact based.

He is a decagon that fits into the round hole at left back. He doesn’t fit exactly, but well enough that it usually doesn’t look too bad.

On the 10 point scale, he is a consistent 5-6, rarely a 4, but almost never an 8.

If he were an A level grade, he’d be a D for the subject of “Manchester City” but a B for “anyone outside the Champions League” and possibly an A/A+ in “some of the far flung corners of world” football team.

In a world of Kobe and Wagyu, he is a tender sirloin, but not quite a ribeye!

And so on….

Doesn’t he have the highest win rate in the squad over 4 years?
I know that stat doesn’t take opposition into account, but clearly it means he is a good cog in our system.

Did you watch his performances in last year's Champions League semi-final against PSG?

He is fine in certain games against certain opposition. Against some systems he is a real asset.
Fair to say that today was not one of them, sadly.
Leicester probably the worst team for him to face with his particular attributes, even in the first half he was targeted and exposed a few times.
For me, Zin’s biggest problem is that it often appears he can only play the way he is facing.
He is very square on when he receives the ball, unlike more natural and experienced full backs like Cancelo and Walker, whose body shape is always on the half turn and have either the pace or the defensive nous to do something about it if they fuck it up.
That is probably a legacy of being brought up as a midfielder tbf but I would still love a specialist LB. It seems like years since we had a reliable one
The kid Mitchell at Palace has struck me as someone we should be keeping an eye on for a while now
We’ve got the best left back in the league this season.Zinky is fine as back up

Well, it is a matter of opinion and you're free to disagree. Who then, do you think is weaker than Zinchenko?

At every position other than left back (and goalie), we have world class talent competing for spots. If someone is injured or experiences a poor turn of form and is sat, then another player steps in and we don't miss a beat.

The only outfield player of City's senior squad yet to score this season in PL - c'mon Zinch, score a belter for us tonight!
It would be another great stat to boil some piss.

I too - as all of us here on Bluemoon - hope he has a good game - great if he also scores.

"another player steps in and we don't miss a beat", this is exactly why Zinchenko has a huge haul of trophies, over 90 appearances and is regularly included in Pep's squad. If every replacement we have was "world class" they wouldn't be hanging around waiting for a chance to play. We have a top class squad which as a unit is world class, that's our strength. I see 24+ individuals forming a quality unit, I don't see a weakness and have enough trust in our club to fix it if they see one.
