I'm not been funny but how many people out of the 80k will this really affect? If the game finishes at normal time 5pm, how many trains are there between then and 9pm, I know more people would stand a chance of getting back but these trains have limited numbers anyway, it wouldn't be so bad if it was just us, but throw Wigan in the mix and a lot of people would be disappointed anyway regardless. Totally agree is a shit time for ko but what ever time it's at would not please everyone.

Assuming it doesn't go to extra time and/or pens, does anyone know what ought to be the best and quickest route back to Euston? There looks to be loads of underground services from Wembley Park to Euston Square but Wembley Park is on the other side of the stadium to where the City fans will be located so would a mad dash to Wembley Central and the overground to Euston be a better bet? Have to bear in mind that whichever option we plump for we will need to stick with.

From our side of the ground, the quickest way back would deffo be to go to Wembley Central and get the London overground from Wembley Central to Euston which takes about 25-30 minutes. The London Overground trains are quite big and spacious too and can squeeze a lot on as they are brand new in most cases. The alternative of the walk round the ground, shuffling up Wembley Way then up to the tube would take far longer and you would of course need to change to get to Euston.

It's one of the few times the Wembley finals when I'm grateful to live in London, as long as Budweiser are happy and the FA make a fat pile of cash then it's win win, the people who actually pay money to be at the match are the least of their concern.

Cheers mate - I thought that Wembley Central would be the better call. We'll just have to try and make sure we get there ahead of the main body of fans and get on the first train back to Euston. For the 2011 semi and final we weren't in any particular rush so ended up having to queue to get into the station which is something we can't afford to do this time.

Had a longish wait at Wembley Central after the semi - 10-15min walk + 20mins or more wait. May not be as bad after the final of course.

We left our seats at the final whistle on Sunday (5:55) and were at Wembley Park station by 6:05. Half an hour later we were sitting in the train at King's Cross. Euston is slightly nearer than King's Cross.

It depends where you are sitting in the stadium. Anyone in blocks 139 to 144 would probably be better heading for Wembley Park.

There should be plenty of time to catch the 9:00 from Euston unless there is extra time and penalties even with waiting to see the cup lifted.

Speaking from experience (I go to all England games), the best way back to Euston is to go to Wembley Park and get the Metropolitan line to Euston Square. That's only four stops and from there it's a 200 metre walk to Euston station.
Yes, Wembley Park is busy after games but no more waiting than at Wembley Central and it's closer to the stadium. It's also fairly well organised.
