Quite a depressing image of the young growing up on here tbh, my daughter's, happy go lucky and polite. Maybe I'm just lucky.

The advertising industry has systematically undermined parents and schools by pushing the seven deadly sins as virtues (FFS) in its attempt to sell even more stuff that people don't really need. This has spread out to entertainment, fashion and media (magazines, etc), but it is all driven by advertising and appeal to base instincts.
Yes, I understand all that.
It's just depressing really, and I hate the fact that childhood seems to be so much shorter these days. It's almost as if the insidious effect of what has now spilled over into mainstream life has made childhood all knowing and a battle.
Communication through technology too must be a nightmare for parents these days to monitor.
It's not just sex education that is needed, the biology of it all is pretty easy to grasp, but it's the emotional and respect side of "sex" that needs to be taught
I'll talk to my daughter about everything which helps, also me being her dad has probably put her off men for life, I've not been the greatest roll model. Expect a my daughter is a lesbian thread one day.mackenzie said:Ducado said:mackenzie said:Yes, I understand all that.

That's just it you see. In my day you were just informed of the biology side, which is why I questioned (in a roundabout way I admit) what sex education teaches now. Does it address the changes in society; does it even reflect what kids might already know and try to perhaps make them understand the bigger picture?
