13 years ago tonight

remember Liam Gallagher being up in one of the 'executive boxes' getting some stick off the Wycmobe fans during the game.

Shite night, shocking result.

I remember being sat in there social club after the game, and one of their fans reminded us, that 2 years previously that we'd been in Premership and that they'd been in non league football.

By the way it was a cracking social club, also the linesman that night was the spit of The Goat, City fans along the side were singing are you Goater in disguise, and theres only one Shaun Goater, it was hilarious

...I remember andy morrison stepping forward from defence...and attempting "hollywood" balls all night long....and that was the highlight of our creative / attacking threat.

What sticks in my mind is the depressing business park you had to walk past to get to and from the ground.

It really brought it home to me how far we had fallen. The performance that evening was another new low too.

When you think that people are asking if we are as good as Barcelona now (which we're not btw) it really brings into sharp relief how far we have come from those dark, depressing days - especially because there seemed such little hope of redemption at the time.

It truly is incredible that we find ourselves where we are today.

What a journey. What a story. God I love this football club.

Business park? Is that what you call it! It is an industrial estate!
Our coaches were last out! Took forever!

haha!

Sorry for not using the correct nomenclature ;-)

i always have a wry smile when i pass the turn off on the M40

did so on Saturday on the way to QPR, told the kids about the trip there as billy no mates because they were too young

it certainly seems a life time away, lincoln away coming up soon too i should imagine

Was at that game! went from the railway in Hollinwood with a right set of loons....

I wasn't at the York game though..........;-)

Remember them bringing on one Jamie McSporran; this was a new low for me - someone I'd played against in Sunday football giving City the run around (and I was about 27 and 15 st when I played against him) - I'm shit and so was he but he gave our heroes the run around!

cant remember the exact night or oppenents [lincoln i think] i was in the kitchen with the match on the radio when my wife came in "what;s the score she asked getting beat again i replied.
just then the match presenter moaned that city had resorted to long ball tactics and were playing "just like Lincoln"
quick as a flash my wife replied "if only"
dark days indeed.

Remember it like it was yesterday. One of the Gallager's was on the back row behind the goal next to us. Terrible night.
