I honestly think the treatment of Laporte this season has been a disgrace. Especially after he put his career and World Cup on the line for us playing injured at the end of last season.

How Akanji plays ahead of him I will never know. Its obscene and I fear we will lose a great player this Summer because of it.

Is it really Akanji though, Dias plays better on the left, hes third choice and Ake has stepped up.

I'm not really surprised hes going.

He's a great player when on form but has too many brainfarts for my liking. He's now 4th/5th choice CB when everyone's fit so probably for the best that he goes with everyone's best wishes.

Were you watching the Forest game? Can someone please explain to me wtf Laporte was doing on the late game tying goal basically just stepping out of the way, offering zero attempt at a challenge, and then left standing there with his dick in his hand and some lame attempt to absolve himself of any fault. He hasn't been seen since and I firmly believe Pep was just as bewildered and disgusted at Laporte as I was. Inexplicable...

I love Laporte and even I have to concede.. that was bad.

Really bad!

He's still got a lot of credit for me in the bank though but Pep has a meritocracy.

He's benched Laporte before after the Spurs game in 20 which led to the Dias and Stones partnership in 20-21. So Laporte knows exactly what he has to do to get back into the team -- Raise his game and cut out the mistakes!
