Pure panic buy. I’m not sure why people are certain he will play next season. If he can’t get a game in this non existent midfield I’m not sure what chance he’s got.

Baffled. He's looked quite good when he's played. A bit up and down but that was to be expected. He definitely did a nice job of protecting the back four and allowing Kovacic to get forward more without risking too much. Now he just can't get in. Crazy stuff.

Our PL record with him starting is P8 W5 D1 L2 (one of those defeats was Liverpool, and the other game was 0-0 when he was subbed off). It's absolute madness that two players - Gonzalez and Grealish - who statistically make us stronger can't get a look-in.

To play devils advocate Newcastle helped us in that game. If everyone played with such aggression and with a high line we would find it easier.

What happened to the club doing all of their due diligence on a player before signing him?

Not having that at all, that could easily have been quashed after the game.

You wouldn’t bring Gonzalez on when you need a goal.

To be honest I think he will be another huge waste of money. We are getting very good at this. Probably spent £300m in the last 2 seasons on squad quality players.
